I still wonder how good Jim Cornelison is? I always liked his friend who got him the job Patrick Blackwell better. And wayne messmer. I like Jim's pointing to the flag. Can't remember if the others did that, too. No doubt it was a perfect storm for the anthem singer after the team did so well

all those sound good except the color and logo... really?!?!? several teams in the nhl alone give you the boot in that situation

They could have grabbed Danault at 18 and kept Brouwer. So then it's whether Brouwer was better than McNeill will be.Hard to say. Truth is, there is an outside shot the Hawks hit a rare trifects on their first three picks in 2011 (McNeill, Danault and Saad).

Time will tell. Good question though.

Add in Clendening (another 2nd round pick in 2011) and it gets even better

Best colors in hockey? So the devils, hurricanes, and senators also have the best uniforms?? I do like pat foley though. One of the few announcers that aren't totally biased towards their home team.

He is totally biased and a homer - just may be more objective than most.

Yeah, Cornelison is a total goofball. Crummy singer.

Blackwell was awesome. Same goes for Wayne.

nope... giving a valid opinion on the piece written by your blogger. Trolls deliberately say things to piss people off. IMO the wings, pens, wild, sharks all have better logos. Not everyone who gives a different opinion is a troll...

Ha ha, yes, I remember, also how all the men wore suits to the games, the smell of cigar smoke throughout the building but especially in the upper reaches where we always sat. I also remember how dark it was up there.

All fair.

Wings, legitimate choice.

Pens? Meh. No.

Wild and Sharks? Look man, anything post 1975 blows. And blows hard. Over-designed, and so "trying to be cool," they get dated almost within a decade.

It is certainly subjective, but a LOT of unbiased people consider the Hawk brand hallmarks—the Indianhead, the tomahawks, the colors—the pre-eminent uniforms in hockey, especially the reds.

Barry Melrose, for one.

Now, I know, you'll say Melrose is a tool. But you know what? Even though it is subjective, the Hawks' stuff is just plain cool and classic and ballsy. period.

That's just such a ridiculous statement it can't even be fairly argued with. Then again, maybe you were being facetious.

Worst logo (and team name) in pro sports. You just lost ALL credibility. Move along.

Jim is great with the pr, though. Always promoting it. Has that anthem singer twitter account. Does just about every local big event now. And whenever he does they always mention how amazing the tradition is at Hawk games

IdK ask any Naive-American if they like the logo or name. Also apply's to the Cleveland Indians and Washington Redskins(which gets the most criticism). I'm sure Native-Americans don't appreciate it.

For every Native American who finds it offensive there's another one who doesn't give a poop, and just because they may not "appreciate it" doesn't make it racist. Maybe we should ask Irish-Americans if the term "Fighting Irish" is offensive too?

Oh you must know many Native-Americans then? ok..

The difference between the Irish and Native-Americans, well it's a pretty big one. See we raped and killed thousands of them then stuck them on little plots of land across the country, then say here you go you can have this little piece of land.

If the name is so offensive, why haven't they petitioned the Department of Defense over the naming of their helicopters?

The politics of the situation are another story. Since political discussions are banned (and suspendable) topics here, let that drop.

I personally know several people descended from different native tribes. None of them have an issue and several wear Hawk sweaters.

I'm sure many don't care. I'm sure that many do care as well. Just sain'. You're using the head of an oppressed people of our country.
