You're looking for tomcat24. You two will get along famously.

I knew that was coming I always said he was an amazing player and I wouldn't just dump him for 2 scrubs. Don't worry, though, I am done with the Trade Kane talk.

How about that crest being the basis for a 3rd jersey?
- 6628

It would give a Euro flavor to the jersey to say the least.

A couple of quick thoughts:

1) If you're going to allude to stars of yesteryear as reasons to be a fan today, you could at least mention Doug Wilson....

2)

That's a helluva characterization! I can't help but be skeptical that isn't a grandiose exaggeration. But I wouldn't know, and enjoy believing that this is true. I hope it is.

Re the logo comments, IMHO the Chicago Bears home uniforms are the best in the history of any sport, at least the traditional ones that emphasize the navy blue and white and don't go orange crazy (all the variants of which I hate).

And I'm not going to touch the Native American logo controversy here for the sole reason that this isn't a political forum, and the issue cannot be discussed openly or competently without getting political. It just can't...

Hawksnhave 2 m in cap space.... what is wrong with Gravo's game that's keeping him unsigned ? To me if he would sign for 1 or 2 years at 1.5 he would be a nice #2center here. He is a guy that seems to thrive with top 6 minutes....

Not sure I know the answer to this, but I wonder what effect our tight knit core full of leaders would have on a talented player who is a bit of a douchenozzle?
Will a guy (not necessarily this guy specifically) who has had a history of not fitting in or going rogue have to adjust his game and attitude on this team because of the force of their leaders and the success they've had? One thing I am sure of, there is no risk that a bad attitude would spread to others on this roster. I'd like to take a gamble in this area to see the answer, although I don't know enough about this guy to know if this is the case to try.

No thanks. I'd rather see what some of the young guys can do with the extra ice time.

Raanta has fluid buildup in his ankle:

http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/chi130731.html

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Antti Raanta has been suffering from a build-up of fluids in his right ankle, the young netminder revealed.
In an interview with Finnish media outlet Ilta-Sanomat, Raanta confirmed the injury, but indicated that the Blackhawks have been monitoring the situation.

Raanta, who returned to his native Finland on Tuesday, admitted that his right ankle was opened up and cleared of the extra fluids.
"On Friday, the stitches were taken out and in one and a half weeks, I can get back to normal and start doing exercises," Raanta told IS.

Raanta, who should be more than ready for the start of training camp in September, signed a one-year, $1.4 million contract with the Blackhawks on June 3.

The 24-year-old was expected to join Helsinki IFK next season, but opted to sign with Chicago.

It's unclear when the Blackhawks became aware of Raanta's injury. Two days after signing him, the club inked veteran netminder Nikolai Khabibulin to a one-year, $2 million deal.

The Hawks did announce on June 9, though, that Raanta would not participate in on-ice drills and scrimmages during the team's prospects camp due to a "minor injury."

The native of Rauma, Finland, posted a 21-10-11 record with Assat Pori of the SM-liiga last season, with a 1.85 goals-against-average and a .943 save percentage.

We've got options for the 2C role, they may not all seem perfect on paper but I bet one of Pirri, Kruger, Shaw, or Saad will work out. I know Bolland didn't work out well, but I think one of these guys will.

Besides that, for this model to work there has to be a legitimate shot for the prospects to make the team. Even if Grabo signed for $1.5 million (highly unlikely) then that's one less space for Pirri, Hayes, Morin and Smith to fight for. We don't desperately need Grabo so why rock the boat for him. If Pirri works out he'll still be a low cost option next season (RFA). If Grabo works out well he'll look for a big payday elsewhere (UFA) and were back to the same place of giving a young guy a shot.
