We are so lucky to have the superstars we have on this team. Malkin is very humble and has no beef with Sid in the spotlight. Sid plays his heart out and is for the most part extremely professional (he occasionally lets his emotions take over during the heat of the game, but for that, good on him). Two superstars like that not butting heads is very lucky for the pens. Could you imagine, say, sid and ovi on the same team?

back from a week at my parents beach home in Stone Harbor, had lovely weather this week for a change.

but I've never worried about malkin. it's easy to see that he doesn't like being the focus. here, he's #2 behind Sid. back in Russia, he'd be front and center. that isn't him.

also keep in mind, this was the league that once showed up at his house before he came here and pretty much told him that they weren't leaving his house until he signed a contract extension in the KHL. he also brings his brother to Pittsburgh with his parents because he's worried that KHL people will do something stupid.

malkin has no reason to leave here. he plays on a great team with great players. he makes good money and competes for a cup every year.

Malkin I don't think was ever a worry, its Ovie that should concern everyone. Ovechkin hasn't won anything, hasn't even gone to a final, has regressed in quality, and is the subject of much scrutiny. He is the poster boy for underachieving in terms of leading his team to a championship. I not judging if he deserves it or not, just stating the fact that he is ridiculed a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if Ovie left for the KHL as well.

I wouldn't really care if ovechkin left. he doesn't really represent the nhl in a good way. he's more like an nfl player, cares more about the name on the back of the jersey than the one on the front.
