Your stuff is getting older and older. That was from March of 2012.

3 more pages I expect Gretzky will be the best player of 2013.

i'm not talking about his time in LA, i'm merely saying why a lot of people don't miss him

not sure what there is to argue about that statement but ok

- Don'tForgetTocchet

What it comes down to is why people don't miss him. I don't miss him either. I like who they got for him.

He didnt come off the ice shaking his head.. He was called off prior to a faceoff, the only player to come off mind you... skated towards the bench when Nodl hops on to the ice. He sees Nodl and then the theatrics ensued. But I guess that isnt an obvious reaction to a clear cut situation on the ice...
- jak521

It's complete speculation, as to why the "theatrics" ensued. It was as silly then as it is now. He could have had a reaction for any number of reasons. Players play their entire careers being pulled off the ice by Coaches for matchup reasons. Now all of a sudden Carter is going to sneer because he's replaced by Nodl? We could speculate until the cows come home as to what his reaction was for. You chose to state that you know exactly why. When that's simply not possible.

You think you know. It's impossible to know for sure. A player can react for any number of reasons to a situation like that. And his reaction could have had zero to do with being pulled off the ice.

My first Flyers game I ever attended was in Boston during my grade school Easter break. I believe it was the the first game Eric Lindros missed due to his collapse lung that I think became apparent during the flight to Boston. Also missing from the lineup that afternoon was Eric Desjardin, John LeClair and I think Recchi, I remember Beezer was in net. If memory serves me right, we lost that game 3-0.

Edit: Never mind he never made the trip to Boston, he stayed in Nashville where the injury occurred.

*hopes this is the right forum for this*

My first hockey game was not a Flyers game, but a Michigan State University game in Lansing, MI against visiting University of Michigan. We were visiting my aunt and uncle who lived up there at the time (1980). I don't remember anything of the game aside from being wowed by the speed of the game and the fact that I could hear the communication on the ice. We sat upstairs and got to see all the action.

My first Flyers game was a loss. I don't remember much of it, sadly, as I was apparently not feeling well. All I remember was, at the end, some kid yelling, "You really sucked tonight, Flyers!" To which my dad sarcastically responded, "Nice..."

That was (probably) my first experience with hammarby31.

Hextall deserved the Conn Smythe in 1987.
- PLindbergh31

Yes he did, also Reggie Leach won it in a losing effort in 1976. He scored 19 goals in only 16 games and was pretty much unstoppable. Including the regular season, he scored an astounding 80 goals that year!

Ron Hextall invented the Conn Smythe.
