Your looking at the wrong stats. You'd have to look at missed shots and shots taken.
- MJL

That's treading dreadfully close to advanced stats territory, sir.

Yes he does.

And yes he did.

He resisted the move to wing while here. Meanwhile, his size and skill set are totally conducive to playing the wing.

It's not like Carter was this great passer who was dishing and setting up teammates. He was a goal scorer.

- johndewar

I think it's innacurate to state that he riesisted moving to the Wing. He's preferred Center, but he didn't resist the move.

he had several years like that, he didn't have two broken feet every year

flyers fans are almost always going to prefer the bergeron type over the carter type

i know i do

Every player will have his defenders. Some just can't let others have their opinions because they like winning arguments no matter how inane.

When a dude scores a goal I should not assume he's happy because he smiles and raises his arms.
- Flyskippy

That's an obvious reaction to a clear cut situation on the ice. When a player comes off the ice to the bench shaking his head. That could be for any number of things.

Thats a comparison on shooting percentage dude. The only stat that exists for showing how accurate a players shooting is.

Actually, OV has a career shooting % of 11.3%, which is higher than Carter's Philly shooting %.

That is incorrect. Shooting percentage is about how many puck go into the net and score a goal. Are shots that hit the net, but the Goalie makes the save, not accurate?

Clearly MJL has a man crush on Carter..... He is even defending him as a goal scorer against the likes of Stamkos and Crosby etc. etc. etc.

He also made a number of posts about Carter missing the net. I confused the two and replied to his post incorrectly.

49.1 % as a flyer all time winning percentage isnt what I would call a winning battle at the faceoff circle.

If Carter is as talented as you say he is, then it really shouldn't have been a problem for him while he was here.

I can appreciate what he's trying to do, but he's got a blind eye towards Carter's weaknesses.

That comment is based on watching the flyers every single game seeing as I live in Philly and can do so. Carter misses the net with a vengeance

A position change takes time for a player to adjust. Carter doesn't seem to have an issue playing Wing in LA. It was also said that Carter and Richards couldn't paly together either. That has also proven to be false.

I'm sure he misses the net just as much as Carter does.

I think this argument that Carter doesn't have a high enough shooting % is so stupid. The coaches encouraged him to shoot MORE because goalies have a hard time handling his shot. Even when they make the save, they usually don't control it.
