So your opinion is that the Leafs have a far better chance than the Habs?

More monumental than your Game 7 3rd period collapse?

Worst ever division champs? Wait, who in the eff made that dumb comment? The Habs earned that spot pretty well this year. Worst division champs ever....try the Florida Panthers of 2 seasons ago!

guy scored 14 points last season playing on that team.

what exactly do you think you have in Bolland?

- DoubleDown

a guy who is built for the playoffs. Instrumental in both cup wins for the hawks. What do you think you have in Eller? Not saying he's horrible but his resume compared to bolland's is not close, regular season points don't really compare to shutting down the sedins and scoring clutch playoff goals.

never mind, you guys are right. Habs top 9 doesn't compete with Toronto's. congrats fellas.

Listen, it's ok that you are Toronto's little brother.....
Big brother is watching out for you, don't worry!

well all you said was 2 of your top forwards (eller and pleks) were better. And i don't think many outside fans (not TO or habs fans) would agree with eller. Unless i missed the post where you did a player for player comparison, you know, like i did to back up my comment?

I think those two as well as Pac would be in Toronto's top 9.

in the top 9 in general, im talking position for position. (pac is 1st line winger so he goes head to head with kessel and lupul, not against say, kulemin on the 3rd line).

his resume? Bolland's played 6 years in the NHL, and has played on a stacked team. Eller has played for a mediocre team. you want to compare resume's of team achievements? ok.
personally, i isolate the player. Eller is younger and bigger, is just as good defensively and scored twice as many points as Bolland last year. and you point to his clutch goals. but you leave out the fact that going into game 5 against Boston, Bolland had scored 1 goal all playoffs. wasn't too clutch through the first 3.5 rounds.

why would i do player for player? im not arguing that Montreal has the better forwards. i'll give that to Toronto at this point. it was the ludicrous statement about the top 9.
and you're arguing JVR against Gallagher. again, look at their numbers. awfully close, wouldn't you say? and one was a 20-year-old rookie. but to you, JVR is automatically better.

JVR is better now. We're talking about next year. JVR is a big body that was inconsistent in the season, but a beast in the playoffs (and in past playoffs for philly). 2nd overall pick, not exactly ancient either. I loved gallagher i have to admit, up until the point he suckered a guy instead of doing the honorable thing and fighting like a man.

My original argument was 'our forwards crush yours'. Okay it was a bit aggressive but i also gave you props for price and i think both D suck to be honest. But when i did compare the top 9 vs your top 9, i do think the only one better is pleks. I think it's justified to say 'crush' in that sense. It's not my fault that when comparing, we have JVR in a position where you guys have gallagher. Just like it may be unfair that we are comparing 2 unproven goalies vs one of the best in price, but it is what it is.

Both teams are about even imo.

And both are on the rise with good young players.

i agree. Same with Phaneuf. Not that he's a top #1 d, but we'd sure as hell miss him. Give the guy some support, lower his minutes and watch the mistakes decrease

i'll gladly take price off your hands

I'd rather have Price in net for Team Canada than Lou. Laugh all you want, I don't think Lou has the confidence to carry the team at this point, and Price has all the talent in the world.

If Phaneuf doesn't resign with the Leafs, part of me hopes he signs for a little less to Montreal.

Won't happen though.

i don't take these forums personally at all; i try to avoid the personal attacks. That's why i emphasized in my original post 'not hating on the habs', yet i get attacked. I don't see anything in my posts i have said to you that is 'personal' or where i need to relax. I find these forums amusing to be honest.
- clark_griswold

its not getting attacked, its generally people just pointing out their opinions and disagreeing with your statement. Thats no more an attack than you taking something personal.
