I'm certain he's going to like it a bit better than the sisters are going to enjoy playing for Torts.

You obviously don't realize they are a big reason that Torts was hired here, they want him here

Tell me that again in December when one of them is benched for not blocking a shot with their face.

John Tortorella is many things - bad at dealing with the media, rough around the edges, not particularly good at controlling his temper - but he's not an idiot. In Tampa Bay, John Tortorella's teams played a totally different brand of hockey than his teams in New York did. Tortorella will adjust his game plan based on the strengths and weaknesses of his roster (and his opponent's roster) because that's what head coaches do.

"It doesn't matter if you have a coach that comes in and yells and screams; it has to make sense though, as a player you have to sit there and say, 'He's right,'" Henrik Sedin said. "I'm sure we're going to see different ways of dealing with stuff, but we're 33 years old, we're not 12, so I think we're able to handle a lot of things."

Tortorella has made a career of making "examples" of his star players. From stripping Vinny of the C in Tampa, to the way he handled Gaborik or how about how he instilled confidence in a young Carl Hagelin by stating that he stinks in the media. Not to mention how he turned a fairly effective pest, Sean Avery, into a lapdog. Believe the reports or not, most of the top players on the Rangers wanted him gone. I'm betting it won't be long before the Canucks feel the same.

And by the way, I was a fan of how he handled the media. Brooks is a moron and during his tenure my favorite part of a Rangers game was the press conference.

As Sedin said, they arent 12...they'll be professional about it...It is better than AV that never allowed a young player on his roster...it was like pulling teeth to allow Hodgson to get any ice time...its going to be a welcome change that players are held accountable... I'm probably only in this way of thinking because I've had to watch AV line juggle his vets beyond anything that ever should have happened...I was getting sick of seeing it

Well I guess they had 2 options there, put Huberdeau on C and draft Drouin, or do what you're suggesting there
- annoyance_101

I think Drouin should have been the pick. I hope I'm wrong and Tallon hits a HR with Barkov, as an organization and a fanbase WE NEED IT!

Why is that a mistake? Maybe they're not happy with one of their Centres and think they would like to upgrade in the future?
- annoyance_101

u dont have to draft position when you have top pick.. u take the best player available.. and it was not barkov in my opinion..Drouin is way better, thats why i said is a big mistake.. they will realize that in a short time lol imagine a Huberdeau Drouin combination ? they miss big time

Barkov still a very good player kid have skillz and size so let see in the future !

I'm just glad he is out of the East. I've hated Torts since his time in Tampa. I don't hate him as a coach, i hate him as a person. When he makes that crunched up weasel face each time he is about to throw a temper tantrum, it makes me shudder with rage. He is a blow hard, low class, douche nozzle, and i consistently hope a ref will jump the boards and beat this piss out of him.

I know what Sedin said, and they probably will be professionals about it. The problem is the coach won't. I agree that players need to be held accountable, but Torts, at least in his time with the Rangers didn't so much hold players accountable, as he acted like a jerk off about things. Only time will tell, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it doesn't take very long for the Tortorella act to wear very thin in Vancouver.

You've got an all star goalie who already has a chip on his shoulder about the way the team has treated him. How does he respond when he has a bad game and Torts says that he stinks in the media? How do the Sedins respond to a benching for not putting themselves in the way of a puck?

I'm not worried about the players. I just hope he trys mouthing off to the Vancouver media the way he did to Brooks in NY.

Agree with everything you say about him. But that was half the fun. I would NEVER want him to coach the Devils, but watching your hated rivals head coach act like a child and ruin relationships with players on his own team. That never got old.

I'm more hoping that Bobby Lou snaps and takes all of his frustration out when Torts decides to make an example of him and beats the piss out of him with a blocker.

To be honest, I think everyone in Vancouver secretly wants that to happen also...If we get sick of his coaching, it'll be fun to talk about something else other than the goaltending
