Ya, he might just be trade bait though bc it's tough to see him cracking the top6 here
McBain is also a RH defenseman, but i dont really see a future for hom here
We're deep on the left side too with...
Ehrhoff (can play right side also)
Zadorov
Weber (plays both sides)
McNabb
McCabe

Our defense is set up really well for the next 10yrs or so
I think Regier has done a GREAT job in that respect

Still some work to do with the forwards though
And I'm not sure we have a "#1" goalie to replace Miller

- jdfitz77

hasn't it been proven that this is not a necessity if he deals with the forwards part of it?

18 points in 15 games in the playoffs, he'd be one of the leading scorers with the Yotes.

He wouldn't break the fourth line.

Well...maybe for Biznasty...

McNabbs shining moment last year was getting beat wide by a 4th line fighter for a goal. pretty embarrassing. Hopefully he is healthy and has a good season.

Pysyk is a purse holder. zero grit.

What is with you and guys with purses? It's getting creepy. . .

He'd be second to MacPherson in that case, so go for Bruller.

I agree. Compher may be a good player, but i was SHOCKED that we didnt take Fucale 35th.

Sabres have a pretty impressive pool of prospects actually. They arent what Garth hypes them to be, You'd believe they had the next Gretzky and Orr in their system between Grigorenko and Risto if you listened to Garth, but it is an impressive list.

I don't see a a Miller replacement though, doubt its Hackett. Makarov had that great world juniors performance but his numbers overall aren't great, but maybe he does put it together.

Solid pool of prospects though.

Not sure what you're saying here?

If u mean we don't need to find another goalie as good as Miller...
Well, me might
But even if we don't NEED a goalie THAT good...
We still need a quality guy that can get hot enough in the playoffs to have a real shot at the cup

Can that be Enroth, hackett, Makarov, etc?
I'm not quite sure any of them are even going to be legit "starters" in the league
I guess we'll see

yeah i don't think we need a 6.5 mil goalie..

Enroth has shown flashes of dominance and i think we need to give him a bigger sample size to feel him out.. Hackett is kind of the same boat. as for the rest, well they haven't played at a very high level yet so you never know.

There's lots of ways to build a "team"
Plenty have won the cup with big $$$ goalies
Do you NEED one?
No
But u definitely need a quality guy back there

I still think Miller will get traded & Enroth will get his shot,
So we'll see
I'm far from convinced he can be "the guy"
But I hope either him or Hackett will work out

i agree with everything you said.. i just don't think for the money we are paying miller we are getting full dollar in return.. We will not be a contender for a few years so i would like to find out what Hackett and Enroth have in them before we become a contender.. holding on to miller just delays that process

True
"team game" though
If Miller had actual "defensemen" in front of him instead of a bunch or "puck movers" that can't clear the crease or get the puck out of the zone...
Idk what goalie would've looked good for us last year
That was embarrassing how we hung Millet out to dry nightly

I agree though
Time to move on
Miller will prob win a cup if he goes to a good team
I wish him the best

Darcy is great at drafting in first rd, just ask Zagrapan, Barret Heiston, Wimp Kalinin, Paille, Kyrukov, wussy Novotny, Ballard, dennis persson lol

Why did it take darcy 15 years to think about drafting guys with grit? Kassian is a bust most likely and he traded him because he was too tough and head strong. Myers is a (frank)ing wussy!

every team has busts including the 1st round. he has several quality picks after the 1st round. he didn't think about drafting players with grit because the "new" rules were supposed to reduce the need for it and make the highly skilled players more desirable.

can i ask you a question Nutsmuggler? why are you a Sabres "fan"

Ballard is an NHL player. Paille has won a Stanley Cup and participated in another SCF. How exactly is he a bust? He plays a huge role for Boston. The wouldn't be the same team without him.

I hear squirrels are really tough though
Just go away
U troll your own team
U & 89 should just exchange phone #s and text each other nonstop about how everything & everyone sucks
U two are a perfect match
I'm sure you'll be together forever in misery
