You, my friend, are a jackass..

The Bryzaster was all the owners doing. Holmgren did what he had to do and bought him out.

Chris Pronger was playing at an all star level before a freak injury ended his career.

Richards and Cater were not the reason the Kings won the cup, they were role players. Carter wasn't even traded to the Kings by the Flyers. You fail to mention that the Flyers got 4 extremely good players for those 2 guys.

What horrible contacts are you talking about? I'm pretty sure half the teams in the league will use their buyouts before next year. Not just the Flyers.

The Flyers play by the rules of the CBA. Just because some teams can't afford to spend up to the cap, how is that the Flyers problem?

That ridiculous buyout clause has saved the Flyers from Homers madness. They would be screwed 10 ways to Sunday stuck in the contracts of Bryz, Pronger, and Briere.

Anyways, don't waste your time Karash. Flyer fans and reality don't mix. You'll find out soon enough, welcome to the division.

You'd be surprised at how many people are too dense to know that.

Yeah, the Pens fans like crying about LTIR...except when Crosby's on it for almost 18 months.

That is, if they weren't all too busy...not understanding LTIR.

5 straight years of top 5 picks, one of which your team "won" for a generational talent at a time when they were on the verge of bankruptcy. Thats a sound business plan as well.

After reading through this blog, not sure Philly fans should be calling out anyone for crying.

Shhhh...the Penguins think they're actually an elite franchise, when in reality, they simply bottom-feed at a high level.

They've won absolutely nothing since the "tank pipeline" dried up.

Question? was anybody on this site actually alive the last time the flyers won the cup? one thing the flyers do better than any other team in the NHL. they make the game entertaining, always play a rough, don't believe in playing defense, always have a stiff in goal, and always think they can overcome the defensive problems with offense, like I said makes for every entertaining games.

Most ridiculous is me clicking on this blog thinking it was Bill's..... lol. Honestly the only move I did not like was trading Bob. The team gave up on him too early. Richards and Carter were big parts of the team but we got grat value back. Bryz was over paid but after the 3 goalie fail in the playoffs it was necessary, plus he didn't play as badly as he looked, the D was horrendous. Pronger, i believe could have played until 43. He is a smart guy and can be very effective while conserving his energy. With the Cap dropping obviously both buyouts were necessary to get guys like Giroux and the rest of the young core locked up long term.

I absolutely don't mind a Devils fan talking trash, because at least they win stuff the hard way -- they don't tank.

Not during FA he isn't. It was a stupid contract and the team is stuck with it. Can't female dog about other posters team shortcomings and not admit ours. Signing a player to a contract that is fully guaranteed and runs until he is 43 is, well, stupid.

Lupul, Sbisa, 2 1sts and a conditional 3rd. 4 years left on an over 35 contract that hamstrings the team during the off season because it counts against the cap. We are playing him to play and he can't and because it was an over 35 contract there is nothing the team can do.
Prongers contract is indeed an absolute and total loss.
Streits contract is just as stupid.

- Marshalle

Pronger was the reason we made the finals against Chicago. His Injuries and stuff are as you stated.

vs.

Lupul was hurt for the majority of his 4 million a year contract. So much so he was traded again before he finally found a home on Forward starved Toronto. We could probably get Sbisa back cheap if we wanted (judging on how big of a whipping boy he has become in Anaheim.) The picks were all late first rounders.

Personally I'd take being 2 wins from the cup versus having a hurt Lupul instead of Pronger, a disappointing Sbisa and 2 picks that would probably have been better had we not done the trade.

I'll provide a mild defense of Hawks fans.

Their ownership was horrendous. For years. They are an original 6 team with a great tradition whose owner abused the trust between the franchise and the fans. Google "Dollar Bill Wirtz". It wasn't good.

I'll provide no such defense for Penguin fans, however.....

Why are Hawks fans allowed to use terrible ownership as an excuse for poor attendance, but Atlanta, Florida and Phoenix are not?
