Think what you want. People were on Moore for the remainder of the game in Denver and in his face again the next game. Every time he skated away I was furious. Finally, he fought Cooke. I mostly think he did this because he figured it was a fight he could compete in and because Cooke was so hated. To suggest Cooke was the first to challenge Moore is completely false. - golfingsince
Yeah, the fans were on Moore the entire game, but he fought 6:36 into the game. I'm sure he accepted Cooke's invitation to fight cause he's an awful fighter, but that's my point, Cooke shouldn't have tried to fight him, he should have left it for someone else. And really, how many shifts do you think Moore had before that? |

Hey Micah, you were mentioning the other day that insults that referenced homophobia or incest were unacceptable. I was wondering if that left bestiality & necrophilia on the table? - Marwood
I'm afraid not.
Smurfs-A-Joke was banned for the next year and a half when I got here. I added another year. I've also tagged his IP, so any new accounts will be getting watched. Sorry for the delay. |

There was a HUGE scrum along the boards immediately after the hit on Naslund. That was opportunity #1 that Moore declined. There was the remainder of that game and then the beginning of the next game. Again, Moore turned down NUMEROUS invites. |

That's such an old school way of looking at the NHL. If Marchand (or any other player) knew that by goading one of the Sedins they were likely to take a stupid penalty they'd do it even more. If an enforcer (Kassian, Sestito) did it it would be more effective (better to have an enforcer in the box than a superstar) but only minimally (still short handed).
You can't get away with the Bure on Churla stuff anymore. Today Bure would be lucky to get 20 games or less for that. If a Canuck did it today they could easily expect 20+, maybe even the remainder of the season or more. It was blatant intent to injure, he jumped, he aimed for his head, and he ended Churla's career.
The guy I think could get away with it more than others, who I would love to see start punishing guys for taking liberties on him, is Luongo. Might think twice about charging the crease if that goalie stick was going to accidentally on purpose greet your teeth every time. - KB3Point0
Probably because I'm old. I have no problem with Bure's elbow. But I do have a big problem with Bert's clubbing of Moore. |

People here can try and blame moore all they want. Bottom line is this what bertuzzi did was one of the dirtiest plays in hockey history.
Was Moore's hit dirty of course it was but it wasnt intentional and it was part of the flow of the game. What Bertuzzi did was intentional and he was suspended rightfully so.

Nobody's blaming Moore. Quite the opposite. Some fans are just questioning Moore's manhood. |

Ah I c. But I have another question. why should he fight someone that he knows he will get his butt kicked. I dont know about you guys but if a bunch of goons are picking fights with me I am running as well if I know my butt will get tooled in the fight. |

That's debatable. Nazzy was extended and so was Moore's elbow to his head. Regardless, Bert committed the ultimate sin.
However, to try and say Moore had no part in what ultimately happened is naive. He declined numerous fights, and made a dirty play to begin with. He also played quite the victim in the aftermath. What kind of coincidence do you think it was that him and his agent released a statement during the Olympic games in Turin when at the time Bert was one of the better players for Team Canada. Of course, Bert the mental midget immediately went into the tank. |

That's where character comes in. Samwise Gagner knew Beauchemin would tool him and fought him anyways. Man up or go home. What Bert did was crap, but had Moore simply paid the piper sooner he might still be playing hockey. |
