Gio is one of the few bright spots we have and I don't see him being sent for anything short of an "impact player" whatever the hell that means on the Flames these days. Had an off year so hopefully that was a hiccup... Unless Bernier doesn't live up to the billing, I'd say Reimer stays, if not it would be interesting to see what interest is out there. Whats his cap hit? and who else do you guys have in the system if he goes to back up Bernier? - geta02it
One year left at $1.8 million cap hit.
Nobody ready to fill the #2.
So I can't see Reimer going anywhere unless somebody puts together a really tempting deal involving big names, stars and chocolate chip cookies.
Moving him creates new problems, and you'll need a vet backup who will probably command more than $1.8 million. |

almost 31, hasn't produced 50 pts even when playing with solid line combos at decent minutes. Clarkson also played sheltered minutes. Curtis Glencross possession wise is no Clarkson; a player i'd more accurately compare Glencross to: Benoit Pouliot
Most Glencross will fetch you is a late 2nd and some middling prospect I fathom. You do recall your GM is Jay Feaster, correct? So probably not even that good of a return. - jerseyleaf

I think, or at least I hope, he meant Liles + Colborne for a 2nd which would make more sense for the Flames. - Lipchitz
I didn't...you would give away Liles and Colborne for a 2nd rounder? |

Haha, actually, sometimes sarcasm is hard to pick up via text...especially if I don't know who the (frank) you are.

You're probably the only person other than Cloutier and Feaster that would want a 1st for Glencross and actually believe that's his value. He's a 3rd liner at best playing better minutes because it's the worst team in the nhl |

I don't think the Flames would consider this.
Glencross would fetch a 1st, +, +, in a deadline deal. - The-O-G
Thought it was a good deal. Glencross would upgrade the Leafs bottom 6.
Glencross is on the wrong side of 30. (almost same age as Liles) Colborne played sheltered minutes with the Leafs last season. Could be your 2nd line Centre for several years. Plus a mid-range draft pick.

CB is not Cloutier... other wise it would have been a "This is Why the Leafs fan base blows... " THATS a Cloutier blog... |

The leafs can buy out Liles for a cap hit of 925,000 this season...pretty sure they would rather do that then give up their most NHL ready forward prospect..
I can see the leafs giving up a mckegg like prospect to dump liles if the return was a useful player |

I think any chance a young player comes available the Flames need to jump on it and try and make something work out.
Leafs with Franson...Flyers with Couturier...etc etc...there are a few solid hockey deals out there but if the Flames want to pick up a legit NHL ready prospect it will cost them. At least with the Leafs, they may be able to steal a guy like Colborne on the cheap because of their cap problem. |

For the record, not trolling. Glencross = Pouliot.
If you can get anything better than a 3rd for him, I'd take it now. |

Got to think about future years as well. Buying out Liles will hurt the Leafs in a major way. The Leafs do not need Colborne, he is slow and not very good defensively. He is also pretty timid despite his size.
Getting rid of Liles, without taking on cap and acquiring some sort of value to this team now is worth Colborne. |

Haha, I'd love to include the Devils here, but their goaltending makes me think otherwise that they'll somehow avoid the lottery in a year they don't have a pick, as hilarious as that would be |
