Leafs plan for Colborne to likely play for the big club this year, or dominate the AHL. Anyone who thinks Liles and Colborne for a 2nd is a deal the Leafs would want or do, must be drinking copious amounts of alcohol and eating oxycodone like skittles. Your team is garbage and it's going to be for several years, don't try and drag Toronto into your mess. - PotvinFan
Talking about Garbage Teams .... look who's calling the Kettle Black LOL !!! how good have the Laffs been the last several years ? 1 playoff appearance in a shortened season since the PREVIOUS LOCKOUT like 8 years ago, and you're going chest pumping ??? Typical Laff Fan ... |

3.85 mil for a PP QB who can still do as advertised isn't exactly an albatross contract that the leafs should have to pay a team to take. The Leafs are known to go with depth if they can, and bury good and extra players in the minors. I doubt Nonis (even if he does have the IQ of a potato) gives him away for free. If the return isn't what he likes...he'll stash him and eat it until he gets it. - jerseyleaf
3.85 for the #6D on one of the weaker defensive teams in the league?
buyout or salary dump. Not gonna get close to a 2nd. If Liles gets you a 2nd then EDM gets a 1st for hemsky |

I feel like they're gonna be in a Subban/Gagner situation where they'll regret not signing him long term to Hamonic-ish money. Under 4M. |

I'm ok with paying a player that has earned it. Feaster was smart though as Brodie will still be RFA after this. Brodie will have arbitration as leverage on his side. Fair. Feast is giving himself time to determine what pieces fit into the plan. |

Won't be a huge difference. EDM probably could have signed Gags long term at 4.2 last year and they're paying him 4.8 now.
They could be paying Brodie say 4M now and 4.5 when his contract is up.
MTL is royally (frank)ed on this Subban contract. Could have extended him at 5 probably. Now a norris under his belt, only getting better. |

Yea, MTL really got the worst/best case scenario. I doubt Brodie wins the Norris or even contends but you never know. You ok with Gagner's contract? |

not crazy about it, but I suspected he'd get a 1-year deal at arbitration and walk next year, so it beat my low expectations
tambo kind of painted them in a corner. macT couldn't have done any better given the circumstance |

Ding ding ding we have a winner!
I'm reluctant to trade Colborne for the simple fact that he is a centre, and we currently are weak at that position. There's a one in a jillion chance Colborne becomes a #1 centre, but I think the Leafs need to retain him because we are so lacking in prospects at arguably the most important position.
We'll trade you Liles and a middling prospect for absolutely nothing. I don't think the Leafs want an 8th defenceman back - we already have too many of those.
Liles and D'Amigo for a 4th rounder. Do the deal over lunch, and MLSEL picks up the tab.
Good morning, my Flamey friends. - Atomic Wedgie

Perfect contract for the team and Brodie I feel...allows Brodie to show Feaster just what kind of player he is and his contract can be reassesed in two years in order to lock him up for awhile. |

Exactly my thoughts. If in 2 years the Brodie camp feels he's worth 6mil and the CGY camp thinks he fits in as a 4-4.5 mil guy (because we may have better options etc), CGY can trade him for other assets. |
