Florida at 100-1, that must have been before they announced the signing of Gomez. - jimbro83
Yeah, now they are at 150 - 1 with Gomez on the roster. |

Anyone following Cloutier and Yost's "Trade Wars" series? It makes for interesting reading and I think Yost is a good writer. But he just traded Michael Del Zotto and a 2nd round pick to Edmonton for Hemsky and Grebeshkov. Only way I move Del Zotto is to get a 20-25 goal scoring wing in his prime and on a reasonable contract. Hemsky can't stay healthy, is soft and is owed $5MM for this season. Not one of Yost's better ideas there. |

I am really getting quite sick of the Del Zotto trade suggestions. He is turning into the new Dubinsky, in that he is included in every trade suggestion. And usually the trade proposals/suggestions treat Del Zotto like some scrub, with the Rangers getting crap in return.
Can't we hypothetically trade someone else on the roster? |

#NYR have agreed to terms w/ undrafted FA D-man Troy Donnay, 19, most recently of OHL's Erie Otters. Donnay is 6-foot-7, 195 pounds
Now get him some food, Big Buff style. |

Where's KPE, or whatever his name was? He'd turn it into a three-team deal with multiple 7th rounders exchanged to make the trade fair.

Find away to get us Yakupov instead. Won't they take like Lindberg, Pyatt and McIlrath for him or something? |

Erie versus Plymouth Game 2 of the season! Not only do I get to see McDavid, but also some skating tree that the Rangers just signed!
Edit: But seriously, the Rangers are adding all kinds of defensive depth in the young undrafted free agent department -- Tommy Hughes, the UMASS kid, and now Donnay. Interesting. |

Connor Allen is the Umass kid. Guess the Rangers want to have a security plan in place if Stralman and Girardi sign else where. Rangers have really added a lot of players to their farm system.
Calle Andersson
Brady Skjei
Mcilrath
Connor Allen
Hughes
Donnay
Hopefully a few of them pan out. |

Skej. Just don't see him panning out based on things I've heard. I woulda dealt him and a 3 to get back into round 1 this year easy. He is the prospect I am most inclined to trade in any deal. |

What makes you say that? He has a decent chance of making the US World Junior team this year and he was one of the final cuts last year. I see and have heard no reason why he can't pan out into a solid defenseman. |

Skating is a plus but I read how the offensive game just isn't there. In college last year he had something like what? 2 points all season and offensively wasn't making good plays with the pucks. And as a first round pick you should be making the WC-USA team. I think being a final cut is a knock not a plus. (I read he didn't do well in that camp). Again, I'm basing it off what I read and our organizational need (in terms of wanting him dealt.) I have never seen the kid play a shift.

Can't find the other thing I read that was alarming but it was based on his WC camp.

He's projected to be a stay at home defensive defenseman so that could explain the lack of offense. He was also a freshman so he probably didn't get a lot of playing time. I agree that he is expendable though and a very forgettable prospect. But thats the type of prospect u get in the late 1st round most times. |

Yea but I think teams would ask for mcilrath instead of him. He's also more of a throwin than a prospect to center a deal around imo. |

What if Girardi and Stralman both leave via free agency? Andersson will probably need a year or two in the AHL. Mcilrath might be a bust or might be the next Douglass Murray. The other college free agents the Rangers signed are projects. How bout we wait and see what we have with him, he's only 19 going on 20. |

Well my point was when it comes to prospects we get so attached we never want to deal anybody... Gotta give to get and I just said I would try and see if a team was really interested, once Richards is bought out perhaps him with a first and another prospect gets you young scoring winger. Gotta give to get and I'd rather him than our other defenseman. |

Re-sign one of Girardi and Stralman and I'm open for trading any young defensmen not named Mcdonagh. However, until that happens let's have an insurance policy. |

Hardest Shot: Brady Skjei, D, Minnesota Golden Gophers (WCHA)
Possessing a canon from the point, without question, Skjei has the hardest shot among all of the Rangers' prospects. Though Skjei is expected to be mostly a shutdown blueliner, he has an amazing shot and is expected to continue developing it during the rest of his collegiate career. In 36 regular season games this season, Skjei posted three points in a mostly depth role. Look for him to get significantly more time with the puck during the 2013-14 season. |
