I think almost anything is on the table other than a buyout. Thats another 6 years of cap space eaten on a player no longer on the team. We just went through too many years of that. I think making a sweetheart deal where we through in a prospect and a pick is def on the table...make too much sense. Let's hope Nonis is up to the task. I'm pretty confident that he is, they have a good team of guys in that office ...not just him. It will work out!

I'm 100% fine giving up a guy like ashton. Probably wont amount to anything anyhow. I agree that we're probably stressing out over nothing. If a bunch of idiots like us can come up with the idea of trading liles for a 7th and adding a meh prospect to get it done, Im pretty sure Nonis has thought of something similar. Its the end of July. We're less than halfway through the summer. Something will get done. Those guys running the show arent idiots. (Though sometimes I question that statement)

From what I can gather, the Leafs have a 48 hour window in which to exercise their 2nd buyout option due to the arbitration.

The CBA says that the team has 48 hours to do the buyout otherwise it is gone.

So we shall find out JML fate in the next 48 hours.
