I may be wrong, but I don't think Colton Orr ever had 2 x 60+ pts seasons and 30 goals.

I debated posting a you tube video of grabovski's passes, but if other posters already believe that Grabo can't pass the puck and choose to forget all those highlights over 4 years of some pretty passing from Grabo, why bother.
- mykokes

You know what the difference between Grabovski and Bozak is in a salary cap world? Jay McClement. Pretty useful piece, and for all those CORSI advanced stats worshipers, he had the worst in the league. I can make up a pointless stat formula too. Here's one:

$5.5 million x 4 more years x 3rd line centre = waste of roster spot, or represented numerically: -3

where is this coming from?

ovechkin: 371 goals and 364 assists

grabovski: 94 goals and 123 assists

thats pretty damn balanced

- Dozzer

Bozak .34 Assist per game
Grabovski .34 Asists per game

One is a shooter one is a playmaking center

thats less than half a shot

works out to be about 33 shots over the course of a season

The fact Lucic can score 30 goals and put up 60pts a season while being able to handle a fight will Colton Orr was the point.

What faulty logic. If stats were the final indicator then Grabovski would still be here centering Kessel.

Here's what Dave Poulin had to say:

AB: How do you see the season Grabovski had last year, and the circumstances leading up to his buyout? He took on some tough assignments last season.

DP: He did. He did without question. But we felt as a group that he didn’t fit with what we are doing right now. You look down the middle and you had the continued growth of Nazem Kadri in that position, you had the play of Tyler Bozak, then you had the addition of Dave Bolland and the play of Jay McClement. You’ve essentially got four pieces there that we feel fit what we’re doing and the direction we’re going in, and in that circumstance we didn’t feel Grabo fit.
AB: As the team’s highest paid center at the time who had put up good numbers in the second line role the two seasons previous, why do you think Grabovski never got an extended look beside Kessel?

DP: I think they’ve had looks, but I don’t think the two players fit. It’s interesting because you can look on paper and say, why wouldn’t these two players fit? But the styles wouldn’t necessarily fit.

You'd hope this would close the book on the Grabovski buyout but there's sure to be some stragglers still crying about it because they now have a useless Grabovski jersey in their closet...

Hiding behind the linesman is hardly handling anything.

i think that pretty much nails it on the head truthfully

look at the cup winning roster in anaheim

2 non north americans

one was pahlsson and the other was selanne

interesting note about those two.. ranked 2 and 3 in team scoring.. getzlaf was the only one who scored more.. and he only beat out selanne by 1 single point

carlyle likes primarily north american teams.. i really do think that played a fairly large factor.

komorov left.. grabo is gone.. guess what?

the leafs now only have 2 euro's on the roster barring any changes
