ya he's played 93 professional games

making him non waiver exempt

Select a player to calculate his waiver status. If the player you are looking for is not listed, please email

- dragus84[email protected] or let us know via Twitter.

Jake Gardiner is not exempt from waivers.

The following chart shows the number of years (not including 2013-14) or games he had to play to lose his exemption and highlights in red the totals that equal or exceed them.

This result is based on the data you entered: Player appeared in one or more professional game after signing his first NHL contract in 2011-12; and player has appeared in 93 career NHL regular season and playoff games games. If this information was entered incorrectly, the calculator will generate an incorrect result.

YEARS GAMES
EXEMPT UNTIL 3 69
TO DATE 2 93

Can't wait for this.

So far I've called:

Bozak staying
Clarkson signing
And Fraser I was slightly off with my $1.25

Next up is Carlyle losing his mind on the bench when Gardiner misses his check for the fifth time in the same game.

- honesthockey

You make it seem as though any of the above was something that came out of left field?
Pretty much everyone knew the above was going happen, most just hoped it wasnt.
We all knew Clarkson would sign....just werent hoping for that term and price.

It took all of two more posts to get him to that point.

Guy is the biggest troll on these boards, and he's allegedly a leaf fan. Hilarious.

He's not a troll, dude.

He's a (frank)ing two year old. There is a large difference. He can't help that he has no logical reason, trolls choose not to.

What faulty logic. If stats were the final indicator then Grabovski would still be here centering Kessel.

Here's what Dave Poulin had to say:

AB: How do you see the season Grabovski had last year, and the circumstances leading up to his buyout? He took on some tough assignments last season.

DP: He did. He did without question. But we felt as a group that he didn’t fit with what we are doing right now. You look down the middle and you had the continued growth of Nazem Kadri in that position, you had the play of Tyler Bozak, then you had the addition of Dave Bolland and the play of Jay McClement. You’ve essentially got four pieces there that we feel fit what we’re doing and the direction we’re going in, and in that circumstance we didn’t feel Grabo fit.
AB: As the team’s highest paid center at the time who had put up good numbers in the second line role the two seasons previous, why do you think Grabovski never got an extended look beside Kessel?

DP: I think they’ve had looks, but I don’t think the two players fit. It’s interesting because you can look on paper and say, why wouldn’t these two players fit? But the styles wouldn’t necessarily fit.

- honesthockey

dare i say.... i actually also believe grabo and kessel don't fit

granted this is solely from watching them play and my opinion, they just don't seem to gel to me

i am saying the last time the leafs let a forward on contract go for nothing it burned them

badly

also.. lets mention the PPG ratio for what amounts to roughly the first 250 games of their careers.

Grabovski: 150P in 250GP: PPG% = 0.613

Sullivan: 179P in 276GP: PPG% = 0.649

they are actually very very very close.

- Dozzer

Stats wise sure, but its the "intangibles" that people keep yapping about where they are miles apart.

No...Bozak was really the only option.
Fraser should have been signed to a two way deal not a one.
7 years for Clarkson....doesnt make sense...but I suppose it had to be done.

this is one of those filler interviews where you dont actually say what the truth is. You Dance around and put a pretty bow on it to make it sound as nice a possible.

Kessel and Grab didnt get an extended look, but they knew they werent a fit, even though EVERY statistic shows Kessel had higher production with Grabovski.

Bottom line is who Carlyle wanted/liked.

I am concerned that Randy makes these mistakes. he has done it before

I know Gm's rarely make offer sheets.
But how awesome would it be if a team put in an offer sheet for Kadri at 4.5 - 5 million?

This place would be hilarious!

- Fakepartofme

If Burke was still the Leafs GM, I wonder if Bryan Murray would do just that, just to get Burke back for the draft when they selected Kadri.

He's a troll in the sense that he's obviously here to start a riot daily.

He starts with the loaded sarcastic comments every day. Grabovski is god, gardinorris.. Etc. he continues to beat that trail until someone finally lights him up.

His sole purpose here is to create a poopstorm.

i understand why they bought out grabo.. but honestly? i would of let bozak walk.. play grabo one more year and see if kadri becomes ready for full time 1st line work.

the simple truth is.. carlyle likes bozak over grabo.. he has his reasons.. but i do think letting grabo go for nothing will haunt the leafs.

would of been easy to move him next year if carlyle would of just slid him into a top 6 role to improve his trade value.

wonder who will be carlyle's whipping boy this year? thats the question i want answered.. he always seems to have one

he isnt wrong.. statistically grabo played better alongside kessel

grabo didnt fit the team's personality... and the coach didnt like him

plain and simple

but the truth is.. he is a better player than bozak.. regardless of fit.

LOL I didn't start the GardiNORRIS but it was funny and directed at me.

Just bc we have differing opinions on players makes me a troll. Hilarious. I like a Leaf. He's just the wrong Leaf

When Grabovski's time was limited the team won. Period. He is not a better player then Bozak for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Look outside the numbers.

yeah I agree, but if they had done this, they would have 1.3 mil less available in cap space, they would have to get rid of more than liles off the roster in order to sign kadri and franson...

Dozzer I've been on here for a long time. Hated Stajan in a Leaf uniform and used to get ripped for that. I was right though. He sucked. I'm sticking up for a Leaf and I'm the bumhole. Jesus.

This is bang on about grabovski / bozak. Would have been smart to let bozo walk, keep grabovski, and save the compliance as a fail safe.
