Dude has one decent season and all of the sudden he wants 4 million and TO fans think he is worth a 1st and a third. The season prior they would have traded him for almost nothing.

The guy certainly had a good season...but I would be wary of committing anything large to him.

personally i would hate to move him, but unless he's willing to lock in at 4 for a while, would hesitate to give it short term. if moved, I could see him going to the avs as they need defense desperately.

I'm not sure TJ would be traded for anyone. If a forward is moved it will be a winger b/c that is where we have depth. That winger is between Connolly and Panik. Kucherov is a no-go, Killorn also, and Palat won't be enough b/c he is undervalued.

If the Leafs are looking for a forward their best bet would be with the Bolts. You would be hard pressed to find a team with more talent on the wings and as it stands now there isn't room for all of them moving forward so at some point one of them will have to go. Panik and Connolly are kind of the same player so those are your 2 most likely pieces

With Kessel, Lupul, JVR, Clarkson etc talent on the wings is not what we need.

Connelly and a 3rd is what will get it done but Connellys hit will be 1.63 so it wouldn't help a lot towards the cap.

To be honest, apart from 1C, our forward group is pretty solid; We did of course finish 5th in league scoring last year. We really need another 1D to play with Dion (though Rielly may earn that spot there in a few years). We're also relatively well off for prospcts... With the exception of perhaps Rielly, we don't have any major stars like you guys do with Drouin, but many of our top roster guys are pretty young (ages 21-26), so I'm not overly worried there.
