I (frank)ing hated Brière with a passion when he was playing for Philly.

He must have been doing something right.

That little dippoop.

Go Brière! Go Habs!

I honestly don't understand why people are so upset about this.

It's not like he makes the team weaker than it was or that he'll prevent one of our prospect to have a chance with the team.

I'm sure he'll do well.

- Scabeh

the backlash is pretty clear:

team has lots of small, soft forwards. signing makes them smaller, softer.

that's about it. but it's 2 years, it's a manageable cap hit. i would trust that if the team is looking real sharp come the deadline, Bergevin will address the size issue in advance of the playoffs, or earlier in the season.

And this being said, replacing Ryder with Brière... not sure it makes them any Softer.

It does make them Frenchier as well. And in this case, I have no problem with it. Please let management know.

agree on that. Ryder was a bit bigger but it's not like he played any kind of physical game. thing about Ryder though is that you could pencil him in for 82 games. hope Briere can stay healthy. and at 35, his minutes will have to be managed accordingly. can run him into the ground like MT did with Markov.
