My ultimate customs experience was coming back from Colombia and landing in Washington DC to connect for a flight to Canada, talk about wasting 3hrs to clear a flight at customs, everyone was searched.

M'eh, it's not even the same lanes. I believe Americans can pass in the reserved Canadian lanes too. And if there's too many people in the Canadian one, you can also go to the All passports one.
