EE, I disagree on a few points. Therrien was criticized for not giving Galchenyuk more ice in PO's when he was one of the only forwards who showed. Add that to the fact that Therrien wanted him with Plekanec to start with but felt he showed "a bit too much respect" and I think starting Galchenyuk as third line winger is a mistake.
I think you are right about Eller, but that Desharnais is now there an insurance more than anything. I think if Eller starts this season the way he finished the last one, Desharnais will be hard-pressed for ice-time regardless of how well he may or may not play. I think opening night roster looks like this even if I suspect it won't stay this way for long.
