Might as well throw my hat in the ring, too.
I'm still not sold on Henrique, I think NJ fans have an inflated opinion of him based off of one epic goal.
If Clowe scores more goals than Henrique this season, then Henrique needs to be trade bait. Not taking anything away from either player, but Henrique needs to step up and be a producer for this team. I want him to hit 20G this year. That's my benchmark for him this upcoming season assuming he plays 82 games. No reason he can't.
Hagelin is a good comparable. Similar stats, possibly inflated by linemates, yet to prove anything on his own or carry any type of offensive load. I wouldn't be opposed to a similar deal, maybe slightly more. The others listed are comparable, but every comparable has its flaws. All things considered, anything more than $3.5M is overpaid in my opinion. This year will be a big year in defining just what type if player he can be. |

Your logic is based on uncertainty. Ask all the GM's in the league if they would take a proven commodity over an unproven one. If Lou loved Henrique so much and thought he was a sure fire top line player he would have been signed already. - Kovaltron
Umm, ever heard of trading a proven player for prospects and picks?
Because it happened. |

I already stated why he has achieved more then one epic playoff overtime goal. He was a Calder finalist you know the trophy for best first year player. This half season was is first ever half season in the NHL where he had to adjust back to the AHL game and injured his thumb. I think he will put up close to 60 points this season if he progresses so you see I also have high hopes for him he has had one good season and on so so season there is no doubt in my mind he at least gets 40 points so long has he stays healthy but what I hope from him is 60. He will have a much bigger role this season and get more ice time. |

If we are talking about trading Henrique it should be for a player that is 20-26 that has already proven himself the best guy I could think of is Evander Kane. This wouldn't be a straight trade but that is the type of player we should be talking about when we are talking about trading Henrique. |

I'd love to see it, especially if he hit 30G (don't see it though), but if he gets 20G & 60P i'd be more than happy, but a lot of it will have to do with linemates, etc. If he plays with Jagr or Ryder, I don't see why he can't get 60P if he's supposedly a core player. Because that's what I expect from a core player. A producer. But then again, who will he play with next season, and after that? There's almost too much instability at FW on this team due to age. In reality, it's hard to get an accurate picture of what Henrique can do at the NHL level. That's why I choose not let his rookie year skew the expectations anymore than last year's subpar season.
It's somewhere in between, some people just don't want to hear that. (Not you, just saying a generality). |

Agree. Don't want his as part of a deal for Vanek. Lou needs to face the facts and realize it's a rebuild (or some sort) losing Henrique & subsequently Vanek would be a setback to be nice about it. Someone that's signed for a few seasons since we all know how players are dying to get out of NJ |

I would love Kane and would easily part with Henrique for him, but even with all the off ice "issues" I don't see winnipeg trading him. |

It will be hard to gauge what he will become or do next season I don't see him as a big time point producer but I see him as a less physical Brown or Callahan. I am not banking on him being a 70-80 pt player but I think he can be a constant 60 pt player with leadership and other intangibles that make him as valuable as a streaky 70-80 pt guy. |

In my opinion he's like a less physical Mike Richards. Not elite offensive talent as you said, but a very good two way game. He'll drop the gloves at the right time (McDonough) and he has a history of scoring clutch goals. |

Especiallyafter losing Burmistrov for nothing. He was just an example a 20-26 year old 30 goal guy who is either just coming into his prime or a young stud who has put up numbers and cans till improve. Kane is 23 I believe a bit of a powerforward has potted 30 before and still might grow a lot more. Anything past 26 is kinda of to old of a player for trading Henrique. I guess another example could be Lucic, Stewart, Ryan ( he might be just young enough ) Eberle. players like that you throw in other pieces to get them but you don't trade him for someone who has the same value as him or less and you shouldn't move him for a player over 26. |

Dude Mackinnon is unproven but Colorado would never trade him straight up for Vanek so your theory is kind of flawed. - blizzzard
Are you comparing Mackinnon to ADAM HENRIQUE? Are you high???? |

Now I know you are high if you think Winnipeg would trade Kane for Henrique. Henrique is so overvalued because of 2 goals its not even funny. |

Not at all I am using that to show that trading a proven commodity for an unproven one is flawed. Right now as in today Henrique is the more proven player but you wouldn't move Mackinon even though he has never played an NHL game. Never once did I say Henrique is the same level you made that assumption. |

If we're trading Henrique it should be a package to get an established, young offensive player. If its a 1 for 1, how much better are we really going to get? |

Mackinnon was the #1 overall pick. Henrique is such a stud he got passed over by 29 teams. Give me a break. 2 goals. Let them go. Devils fans talk about Rangers fans living in 1994. That was 2 years ago. Doesnt make up for his lackluster season last year. |
