I won't even put this at the point of much more than a murmur right now, but there is a source I really trust who tells me that while the Sabres are playing it extremely close to the vest, and acting as if there is not much of a chance Ryan Miller will be moved in the near future, that may not EXACTLY be the case...

There may indeed be a deal that Ryan Miller himself is mulling over at this time and those I talk to truly feel he may be leaning towards accepting the deal.

Stay tuned.

What if the Sabres took Danny Heatley in the trade package from the Wild? One large contract for another.

why on earth would we want to do that??

You stated an opinion that Miller's play was not affected by the Lucic hit, AND that he peaked in 2010... I agreed with the peaking in 2010 part and asked you a legit question. Be a man and answer, or stay away from it.

If this is Miller bashing in your view, then take off the dress.

Miller was affected for a part of that season and that was it, if you remember he once again almost single handed got us in the playoffs again after getting red hot down the stretch of that year..so Miller is far from finished and most GM's out there know that

Because we could do this
A) Actually be able to trade Vanek to Minnesota
B) Flip Heatly at the deadline for another pick/prospect.

Essentially you are getting a free pick prospect from a different team for Vanek even though Miyy is the one that trade for him.

ok so your saying its NOT a straight one for one deal??..if we get something with Heatly then maybe..but even then..at the deadline Vanek would be more in demand than Heatly..I doubt we would be able to move Heatly at the deadline, Vanek I know we could

Agree. I'd much rather keep Vanek till the deadline then take a chance on Heatly.
