Dude, do you even watch hockey??? Luango is average...he has folded so many times against the Hawks in the past. The Bruins shell-shocked him . Heck even the Nucks benched him to ride Schneider in the playoffs.

Truth is Canada is stacked, and ANY goalie they put in...Louie, Carey, Crawford, Holtby, or Smith....will just have to be average. And average is about what Luongo is. And that ain't so bad. My Hawks have won 2 Cups the last 4 years with Niemi and Crawford....two AVERAGE goalies. You see, when you have a STACKED team like the Hawks have, decent goaltending can take you to a title. And Canada, sir...is STACKED. As long as their goalie doesn't lose it for them, they will do fine.

I wasn't commenting on whether or not he was "overrated" or not. You said "who cares about overrated Bobby-lou", and my response was... a lot of people. Especially if he ends up in net for Team Canada.
Roberto has had obvious flaws but he is the only returning goaltender from 2010. Regardless of who Canada chooses, they will have talent in net, but I was hinting at Lou starting based on experience. I would bet money on him at least getting the first start in the first game, and coaching staff decisions go from there.

Is Buffalo sending us Vanek for pieces and parts? Anyone that thinks Vanek with 1 year left on his contract is worth a Henrique, is nuts. We can't afford him.

1. I've called Eklund out numerous times on his total lack of insight/ news/ rumours that hasn't already been reported about the Canucks. He has no sources on the team and only gets his information from other people in the EAST. He doesn't have any real western sources.

2. Leafs fans are pathetic trying to call out the Canucks. The leafs organization is a clown show- they sign their GM to 5 yrs based on half a season of performance and after he overpaid for 2nd and 3rd line players not to mention the last 55 years of futility. The team will suck again and won't make the playoffs this season with teams like the Bruins, Habs, Sens, and Wings to contend against. some of the leafs fans seriously think they can compete with the Bruins who were totally inconsistent in the first round and only really woke up in the 3rd period of game 7. Bruins had played every second night for over a month and went in tired.

3. Canucks have a solid team and despite the trolls and haters, they have solid players in the pipeline too. solid top 4 on D, solid top two lines, good 3rd line, vezina candidate goalchie, etc... etc...

4. They've changed coaches and a different voice who won a cup will work wonders with the skill on this team and the young players. Torts has a history developing younger players and adapting his strategies to suit the players on the team.

5. MG was put into an untenable position trying to deal Luongo, first by the player who wouldn't authorize a trade to etams other than the panthers last summer before the lockout, and then by owners of some teams who wanted to punish teams like the Canucks for circumventing the cap. At least the Nux got a top ten pick out of the whole fiasco, who is a gamer by all accounts. future replacement of Kesler/ Hank.

not sure about the Price >Luongo. Lou is a good goalie, when he's on he's great. Then he gets bored and starts to do belly angels and it falls apart. His contract is what took that away from him.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has his best year this year because he won't take any of the fan/team criticism to heart and plays for himself.

He beat himself up too much when he was captain, let the fans and criticism get to himself.

Unfortunately for you the Flames are neither of those. They're always bad enough to miss the playoffs but good enough to not get a high draft pick. The worst of both worlds. So ya, a lot more rewarding to go for a perennial mediocre (at best) team like the Flames than a perennial contender like the Canucks. They might not have won a Cup but they are the true champions in our hearts and that's all that matters.

I hope that there is a trade in the works, you guys have the pieces. The problem is that Darcy has an unrealistic asking price that cannot be met. Merrill, Boucher, and a 2nd would do. Darcy is probably asking for something around the value of Henrique, Merrill, and a 2015 1st, which is totally ridiculous.

Canucks are currently the favourites to win the Cup next season. Luongo is the favourite to be the starting goalie for Canada. Canucks also have one of, if not the deepest prospect pools in the league.
