The most over rated player in buffalo history, Goose...38 playoff games ZERO GOALS. 33% on faceoffs in last series, lost every important draw in D zone to let flyers tie and win games, couldn't shut down 42 year old mark recchi lol...check his faceoff stats vs boston and flyers where moron coach gave him 19 mins a game average which was more than scorers like vanek. He couldn't shut down a 6th grade girls team.
And if you say "his job is not to score in playoffs" I show you how the checking center on cup teams scored big goals to help. All 3 lines and d have to score to win cup. His job was to win faceoffs and shut down lines but he failed and goofy fans wanted to give him the key to the city. |

"Gerbe's heavy body checks and cheap shots that he would land on Boston skyscraper Zdeno Chara made Sabres fans love him all the more."
This is a joke, right? |

I'll always be upset we released Gerbe, he us going to make us regret that every time we play them. It's impossible to find players with the work ethic, drive and attitude he has. He's the kind of player you love to have and almost need in a locker room, and he would've been great to show the young kids how to be a pro. It's too bad he couldn't make it here, - Cmulvey12

There was a few moments where you thought this guy might be some kind of x-factor kind of player. But it was never consistent. We gave him plenty of chances. |

That's kind of bogus really. He has the same excuse as Myers as to why he wasn't effective last year. The only difference is that he isn't a high draft pick and 6'8". For the salary he got he was fine. |

I have absolutely no remorse for the waiving of Gerbe. As someone wrote, he just took up a roster spot. Similar to how Kevin is just taking up a blog spot on this site. A snot nosed kid asking for questions as if he has any info, intellect or expertise in answering them. Each blog he writes is as simplistic and boring as the next but I digress. Good luck to Gerbe, but size and hockey sense does matter. |

Garth can be wrong at times and exaggerate Sabres talent like an extension of the Sabres PR guy, but he does put effort and also has experience to put into his blogs. He has a writing style that is a pleasant read if you don't care about typos, which I don't. Kevin's blogs are just simple, boring and without any real knowledge to back them up. He may get better over time, but for people to bow at the feet his mom just washed for him is pretty lame. |

I respect your opinion regardless of how warped I think it is.
I also never had an issue with typos,
I am a closet Sabres fan and many of other fans have became frustrated with the non issues Garth blogs about, hence the one about Gerbe.
Seems a moot point to discuss something that is not related to the future of the sabres and dwell on the past.
Just my opinion.
Cheers.

Let's put it this way. Garth is creative in his blogs using music and other similis, and methphors to enhance the read, in my opinion. He is not a true journalist, like most bloggers on this site aren't, except for Tim Pinoccio, so I don't hold his blogs to a newspaper's standard. The read usually flows easily and they may not have what some are looking for on this site, but they are fine for me. He sometimes provides real news about the Sabres and its players as well or just interesting tidbits, like the current one stating Gaustad got married. Hell, it's the summer, every day isn't going to have much else. Kevin today writes about how team's should be built and keeps saying I think maybe teams should be built by the goalie out, but maybe not always and maybe others won't agree with that buit I think that's what I think. For God's sake he should take a stand and try to put some creativity in his drab and boring writing style. Hey, it's fine if others need to join the Kevin fan club, but if I had to choose between the two I'll stick to Garth's blogs because he offers more entertainment value for me. |

Thank you for posting what I wrote on this blog in Kevin's but you should have attached my name to it.
And, as I see now you are Kevin's Tee ball buddy.

Speaking of music did anyone go see the Wailers last night at the Harbor? Damn, that was a great concert. That will fall in the top ten concerts I've gone to and a great thing about it was it was free. It was packed there too much more than The Fixx the night before that I went to as well. That was pretty good as well. |

Speaking of Sabre weddings...
I am totally shocked that Ryan Miller would "stand up" for Goose... the same "Goose" that stood there, doing nothing, when Lucic blew him out of the water a few years ago.
HOW does one stay friends with a guy who has the muscle to stand up for you, and doesn't?
And on a related note, Stafford got married a few days ago... anyone know if Derek Roy was invited??? LOL, I checked @roy9er but his twitter has been deactivated. Wonder if they are still "friends with junk grabbing benefits..."

Your loss is the Canes' gain! Thanks! And thanks for showing me that there's at least one person left in Buffalo with a little class! I'm afraid most of the other commenters (spewers of hate) on this site wouldn't know CLASS if they saw it!
I'm always disgusted by (so-called) fans who haven't the decency to show some respect for hard-working player/ athletes who put more work into their profession than they could even comprehend! We have some classless "fans" here too, and i try to convey my displeasure with their garbage-mouths when i can! I DO BELIEVE that they are in the minority, but mental-midgets seem to be always over-compensating for their own inadequacies with obnoxious volume!
Good luck this year, and stay classy!

Well put . I as a Sabres fan do not despise Nathan . His time here was done and they decided to move in a different direction . I always appreciated his effort . I feel last season he had not really overcome what turned out to be a very serious injury . I hope he does recover fully and has a long career in the NHL |

There's no entertainment value in garths blogs other than the criticism he gets from others. Especially when he writes about other teams.

The Wailers show was quite excellent. Encore Exodus was probably the highlight song of the night for me...the whole set was great. The Sabres are gonna need some reggae vibes this season...as I think it won't go too well. Still no #1 center on this team...great job Darcy...unless Hodgson blooms overnight and gets a lot better defensively...oh yeah...he's not even signed yet.
Gerbe to Carolina huh...nothing against him... he couldn't have gone to a more likeable team ha! |
