Pitt has been one of the best teams in the league since 2006 and I dont see why that will change. They have arguably the best offense in the NHL. Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz, Neal, Dupuis. I expect them to be in the top 5 in the regular season and at that point anything is possible. Almost every hockey expert will agree that they are a top 5 team as do all professional betting sites. So quite frankly your "unprofessional" opinion doesnt mean much to me. You dont like them. good for you. Once the playoffs start anything is possible. Remember the kings won the cup squeaking into the playoffs. Were they a top 4 team in the top tier. Almost every expert would have put Vancouver in that top tier. So once the playoff starts anything is possible. I expect the pens to probably win their division and have top 3 seed going into the playoffs. Do they have holes?? Of course they do name one team that doesnt have holes. - Bluechip23

Good blog for once. Why doesn't someone offer sheet a franchise d-man like Alex P? Hope the Leafs could do it and then trade Franson. |

And who else. The leafs are already in cap hell. It would take north of 7 mill to get AP. |

Exactly. The leafs just needed one offseason from nonis to screw up a great cap situation that burke built.
Bozak and gunnerson should not have been resigned. I like Gunnerson but he should have been further down the totem pole. |

I think Gunnersson is pretty important. The rest of the leafs d are awful in their end. Bozak was the biggy. Either keep Bozak and forget Bolland or vesa versa. |

Booth may be an vattractive option for a team when he is in the last yr of his contract. |

INteresting that you like gunner. I would rate him the 5th best leaf dman. Id take Dion, Fransen, frasor, Gardiner all before Gunner. I also think in 1 year reilly will be better as well. Thats why i was shocked they signed gunnerson to that deal. When they got Bolland I thought that was the end of Bozak. When they signed him I was like WTF is nonis doing.

Being forced to watch leaf hockey, as i live in Ontario. Gunnersson is far and away their best defensive d man. Gardiner will probably be better some day but he isn't very good yet. He spent last yr in the A and didn't improve. Frasor is a 6/7 guy. Tougher AHlberts. Does his job but not close to a top 4 guy. |

I think that is a myth. Legend has told of a healthy Booth but only the Gods of the animal kingdom have seen such a creature. |

As long as they develop. Both are awful defensively, and aside from Gunner there isn't much defensive depth in the bigs. |

Yea, teams are lining up for guys that take up 4 mill cap space and play 10 games a season...sure... |

What's the risk? A team with tons of cap space. If booth is hurt the insurance pays, if he's healthy you get a top 6 forward. Say the islanders for example. Booth for a 5th rounder. Still him with Tavaras |
