I was looking at the UFAs next year and makes me wonder, do you really want to re-sign the Sedins or would we like to go in a different direction.

If the Sedins come off the books and we get rid of Booth and Lu is traded . We would have over 30 mil in cap space and could take a different direction.

PLayers like Thorton Kessel Vanek Callahan

We could try to build a first line like

Vanek (6 Mil) Thorton (6.8 Mil) Kessel 6.8

Burrows Kesler Shinkaruk

Gaunce Horvat Kassian

- VANTEL

Why not sign the twins for 3.5 ea. and give the rest to Thorton.

Your missing the point. If we walk from the Sedins trade Lu and get rid of Booth we become the team like the Oilers and Leafs were a few years back. The names may change of who is available but a lot of teams are getting close to the cap ceiling while we could be in there with wallets wide open for stars that want to test FA.

Again, I'll happily I'll admit I'm wrong if there's multiple first liners available next July, and we'll see how many of them sign deals that aren't insane. But until then, there's no (frank)ing way I'm even considering that.

If you could get two sedins for the price of one yes, but then you could also get another top player at the 6.8 range.

3.5 each? They'd have to be really desperate to win, not easy to walk away from multiple millions of dollars, it's easy for us fans to say it but if I as a player there's no way I take half of what I could get in the open market just to stay with my team. And there's no way to guarantee that you would even win a cup either, imagine giving up 2-3 million dollars and not winning the cup.

Thanks buddy, the nurse says I'll only experience 1/8th of the pain that my wife went through in child birth, tip of the hat to all the ladies out there, they're tougher than they look.

Interesting fact. The human body is designed to withstand 55 desibles of pain. Its the same for everybody, those saying they can't take pain are being dramatic. However during child birth a women's hormones allow her to withstand 70 desibles of pain like they are 55

Thornton is like the Canadian version of Henrik. Great passer, doesn't shoot even when he should. Loves to cycle, leadership/toughness has been questioned by many. Kessel is not the type of player that I'd want to build my core around, he's the type I bring in to put a team over the top and if he makes it to UFA he's definitely not going to sign in a hockey-crazed market IMO, seems like the type of guy who would love to play way down south as long as he gets his money.

I don't like Kesels personality but the guy scores 30+ goals a year. We need that.
