Gillis said the rumour mill pisses him off and makes him laugh but he can't respond to it.

So I imagine he chuckles when he hears rumours from here from his sources.

Agreed. Nor would I if I was Montreal. Said it last yr at the draft, Gally will be the best all around player from the 2012 draft. And he was without question the best player from that draft playing last yr. I think that will last.
- Bieksa#3

You're clearly trying to bait me, but ill bite anyway.

How without question? Under which parameters?
He certainly wasnt the best player last year.
Yakupov had more goals, more points, is more physical and played tougher competition. All with a relative amount of playing time.

I wont argue future cause its futile, and maybe you're right.
Either way, imo yaks is gonna be a dynamic multiple time 30+ goal scorer, so im happy with the pick

Their offensive numbers are very comparable. Gally had 4 less points. He is without question stronger 2 way then Yaks. And how was his compitition stronger? One played in perhaps the strongest division and the other against perhaps the weakest. Neither spent much time on the 1st line so having to face shut down lines isn't a obsticle

Ek is reporting that there will be a bust up between Lou and the Cancks. I think it's safe to say that everything is going to be fine next year. Thanks for setting our minds at ease, Ek.

I think its a mute point. Either play or don't. Lu is pretty much screwed. I'm not sure how changing agents helps this. What I do know is his old agent blasted the canucks a couple weeks ago and was then fired. Tells me that Lu wants to mend the fences as much as the team

Or else he just doesn't want to ruin his rep with having an agent that uses the media to vent his clients frustrations. I don't think Lu wants to mend fences so much as to not lower his trade value any more than it already is and Barrie and his company have been known to be EXTREMELY media savvy and probably could advise Luongo better on media relations, quotes and stuff.

They showed his numbers post allstar break . He was awful before..anyway, still not a fan.

How about Bautista though? wtf is wrong with that guy? such a cry baby, totally ruining the team chemistry. Lawrie is the same, those two must be roommates on the road, sulking together about the umps strike zone.

I knew exactly what was going to happen after that inside strike. High and away, strikeout then Bautista tossed, it was so obvious it was about to happen.

Literally couldn't have said it better myself. Bautista comes off as more of a distraction than anything. Lawrie is a human fireball that seems to have calmed down (very little) since he came back from injury

Regardless, I feel sorry for those idiots who actually thought they were going to win the world series this year. I mean come on. Its fukking Toronto.

I'm not a bautista fan. IMO the Jays could get a boatload for him though. And should move him. If I was AA I would gut this team in the next few days. Huge sellers market. Look what Garza went for.

They don't need to gut it. Bautista and Johnson would bring back a huge return. I think Lawrie will grow up, and could be a great third baseman.

2nd base is still a huge question mark.

I love Reyes, such a blast to watch.

its a nice thought to think we could actually get something for Johnson......But lets be serious, throw on some tape of this guys season in any locker room and the most you could get is bag of balls. Hes friggin romero 2.0

Arencebia needs to go. I'd gut the rotation. I agree on Lawrie, nice upside. Rasmus and Reyes are both great players.

JJ is probably the jays best pitcher. Just an awful yr. Teams always overpay for a guy with Johnson talent at the deadline.

Rasmus s hit and miss. But I'd like to see him stick around. Reyes Is fukking awesome and id hate to see him go. Lawrie is a headcase and a head scratcher. Not really sure what Id like to do with that snap show.

And when it comes to bautista, The guy is diffinitly passionate but a little over emotional. If we could move him and get some nice assets in return, id be all for it.

Its not like he hasn't done it before. Teams think they have the way to fix it. Happens in all sports. Honestly the Jays could probably get a great prospect package. Boston perhaps? Arizona Pirates? Hell maybe my Braves with the Hudson injury. But Braves rotation is still top notch.BTW the Jays are 25th in the league in man injury games, so how bad would they be if they were beat up?

Not to mention that Yakupov got a lot more icetime (which also included time on the power-play). Galchenyuk, on the other hand, rarely got any power-play time and played quite a bit less (looks to be around 2.5 fewer minutes per game)

Don't get me wrong, I think both are going to be excellent players but at this point I would say it's difficult to gauge who the better player is (or who will ultimately end up being the best)

I think both guys have a very bright Future in the NHL. I am a huge Galchenyuk fan and if it wasnt for the injuries I think he could have gone 1st overall.

Didn't you propose Vancouver getting less? Eller and a 1st?
- Bieksa#3

He's still pretty young and improving. The problem with trying to get him out of MTL is he's one of their bigger players.

Edit: By Gally i assumed you meant Gallagher. Didn't think you'd possibly mean Galchenyuk and a 2nd.

I went with Galaghar and Tinordi as well. But I do think AlexP's proposal of a straight up Patches for Edler is fair
