I'm totally with you. They have to start selling high in a few cases and help the build along. Weren't we offered a 1st for Grabo at 1 point.

Not sure if this is common knowledge or not but the leafs aren't going to win the cup next year. They need to be looking at their team in say 3 years and start adding more pieces. One reason I wouldn't be opposed to trading Phaneuf too. Maximize your return and be patient.

Man remember when Pierre Maguire was poop talking yet again on the Habs for not picking him when they went with McDonaugh? He said something like this is the steal of the draft, the Penguins just got the next French Canadian star and the Habs miss from their own backyard again.

This may sound dumb....Is it possible to sign a player to a one year deal then sign them to a contract extension the next day? In leafs case it would definitely help to keep that cap hit down for next year. Sign kadri and franson to one year 3 mill contracts then give them a long term contract with the money and term they want right after.

I think for me it's that I'm surrounded day in, day out by some of the smartest mofo's in the province, and yet being a scientist so often seems to preclude being able to communicate effectively. As such, everyone reaches for a thesaurus at the drop of a hat, and proceeds to spout the most ill-conceived sentences known to man, where a simple one would suffice.

Put simply, I hear people say "ergo" a lot, and it really pisses me off!!!!

Why is that dumb? I think it's a great idea especially for Franson. Doesn't have to be the next day though. Sign him to a 1 year 3.4 m deal. Then first few months of the season. Lock him up for 4 or 5 at 4+.
