even worse. we have the chance to sell high for once. everyone always complains the year after one of our guys have a good season then poop the bed that we should have traded them in the offseason when they had good value

If we're talking Franson, most d-men come into their own at 25. Lo and behold, last year Franson at 25 was on a career high pace in every category, and would've doubled the number of hits he dished out. I liked Carlyle's use of him, especially in the playoffs. Keep him. He has another level he might reach.

So is everyone caught up on Game of thrones now? Can we start talking about what we think is going to happen in the next book yet?

Hoglund because of Mats - where's management on that one eh?

Tucker also bagged 24 two other times without him, i could argue the extra ice time alone was the reason.

Renberg's nums in TO were marginal at best. And he scored more with Philly and Lindros, averaging a little under a point per game, and bagging way more goals than when he played with Mats. He got a lot of assists with Sundin, so who was helping who?

Wellwood didnt play with Sundin, he was a centre and had a big half season before getting injured, and his rookie year he played first line when Sundin was injured.

Thomas had big years playing with lots of different guys.

None of these guys proves a thing.

I remember does two years that Tucker played with Sundin, no way in hell Tucker puts does numbers up if he didn't play with Sundin.
Wellwood did play on a line with Sundin for awhile...

Well, he did. Sorry to say. The only legitimate guy that can be used in the argument, and only one is Berezin. Tucker bagged 24 without Sundin, for sure.

Now, lets be honest here, Wellwood pre-sports hernia looked like a magician feeding those nice passes to Tucker. Even still, as a guy who gets my share of those types of passes in my ball hockey league and manages to miss 99.9% of them, its not as easy as it looks to score on the doorstep as some would think hahahahhaha

Yet Wellwood had just as good a season in Winnepeg, the argument still fails.

Tucker was coming off two 30 point seasons before the lock-out. Plays with Sundin in the absence of Roberts and Mogilny, and he puts up a 60 point year at age 30. That's a fairly significant increase.

Thomas may have very well had some big years, but those years were during his prime. To suddenly become a PPG player at age 37 after 4 down years? That's on Sundin.

Wellwood absolutely spent considerable time on Sundin's wing. He wasn't used much at center with us having Sundin and Allison at the time.

Renberg produced more with Philly, but again, that was during his prime. At age 30, he had his best year in the last half a decade playing with Sundin. A 30% increase in production after bouncing around the league for 5 years is hardly "marginal".

He got a lot of assists with Sundin, so who was helping who?

I can assure you that the guy with 464 career points was NOT helping the guy with 1349.

Use your head.

Wellwood's sophmore year, when he got the sports hernia

As an avid Kadri lover, I fear if there's one thing that'll ruin Kadri, it will be that same injury.

This.

A lot of my arguments are based on memory of what happened and it's clear this guy is 17 years old.

I guess you had to be there to see what the big deal was with Sundin.

I'm sure Lonny Bohonos would have been a PPG player in the playoffs without Sundin.

Hell, Bohonos was probably carrying Mats.

I'm 32 and we had season tickets. I watched Sundin solid for 10 years of my life, live. He wasn't as good as people say now. Great player, but not as good as people say.

Nah, just watch the Olympics and world cups. When the best in the world got together, Sundin stood out as elite. At times he frustrated me, he was never my favourite Leaf, but he was admittedly one of the best centres I ever saw don a Maple Leaf, and stick him on the Avalanche with Sakic instead of Forsberg, they still would've won their share of cups.
