Seriously show me a source? The only thing I heard is that we might have to take some salary back. I don't think Detroit or Colorado would mind him. - MapleLeafsFTW
Whats source? Its what 90% of the people are saying on here i dont agree with it either but thats what most people think and say. |

gardiner would not be with phaneuf. it would be
Phaneuf-Gunnarson
Gardiner-Fanson
Rander-Fraser
If your using those players. - jake24242
He played quite a bit with him in the playoffs. He also clearly has potential to be on the top pairing, which you can't say for Gunnarson. I think he'll have to earn the spot, but barring any severe injury I would bet on him all day. |

It's been a long time since he did that, However for a million dollars, he's a steal and should really improve our blueline depth. - MapleLeafsFTW

and there is another, so yeah they never have, ever. never. - burn
Yup, Babe Pratt. Kind of interesting factoid there: aside from Bobby Orr and Chris Pronger, he is the last defenseman to win the Hart. |

I didn't know anybody on here was affiliated with the Toronto Maple Leafs management. Also saying 90% of the people on here are saying something usually means the opposite thing is true! |

he's untradeable without taking salary back.
They can't afford to take much back. Best hope is retaining some and getting a 7th round pick and a $900k or less contract they can stick in the MArlies |

Your point is true. The lack of major trophy winner or true superstars who've played on the Leafs is hard to imagine considering the long history of the team. - robin_steele264
Yeah... except that wasn't his claim. |

They have had piss-poor management the majority of the time, it's a sad truth. |

I agree, they were amazing together. But Franson and Fraser had remarkably good chemistry last season, unless that falls through they will be together this season provided they are both signed and not traded. |

This is just ridiculous.
Name one single legitimate 1st line winger Sundin played with in their prime. Just 1. you can't.
Also, he scored 41 in TO twice. 30+ 1 times.
Goals weren't the problem. Linemates who could finish at a reasonable rate was the problem. - Big_Lightnin
The Roberts Mogilny era were very good wingers. |

He's not untradeable, that's your assumption. His contract isn't even that bad, nor is his salary hit. It's just a matter of him not fitting into Carlyle's system and having Gardiner basically take his spot. He's still a serviceable player on the right team. |

So your saying he has trade value which again I agree he does is different then saying he has no trade value and you need to be in the organization to know this?
I didn't know you where in the organization. And I guess you haven't read all 35 pages in this form then if you are not aware of what people think about Liles try giving it a read before blurting out a response.
Thanks. |

Gunnarsson plays a lot of minutes as well, what's your point? Still a #4 Dman. Sometimes it just means that a team doesn't have anyone better to do the job. ie: Bozak, Gunnarsson, Aulie. - ThePresident
Gunnerson is Solid.
Aulie?? really hes an example? he was a 6-7..... come on. |

Verifiably false.
While the Leafs may not have had many Hart Trophy winners, they have most certainly had many very high end players. A list of the top 100 players in NHL history would include many Leafs. - Leeman4Gilmour
I agree with you but unfortunately not many of those players have played in Toronto in the last thirty years.
