I agree. I was just simply stating the point they were trying to make. Nothing is ever really a guarantee. Other than death and taxes that is. - HonkFortheGoose

I'm really not looking forward to another year of cheering to lose. - cowmad152
I'm not either. I wasn't the one that said it. I was just making what was being said clear. I do have a feeling that Rochester is going to be the more entertaining team to watch this year though. |

See, I also would think you would get a 1st for Moulson but my scout friend says no way. I know what he thinks isn't the end all be all, but it is what he does for a living so I have to put some stock in what his opinion is. - Homer
I'm just nervous about the risk involved
What if Moulson does have a big drop off playing away from Tavares?
Then what's he worth?
Or what if he gets hurt?
Makes more more sense to me to have them give us prospects & picks...
Plus, it benefits them not giving up roster players so thy can really try & make a run at the cup |

well to gaurantee it is goign a touch far.. but it greatly increases the odds.. If Myers pulls his head out of his anus and Enroth stands on his head we could be back in the 8 to 12 pick range |

I'm not sure but Moulson without Tavares will be Leino 2.0. Vanek is much, much better at making plays by himself. - buffalofan19

it's impossible to do that until the season is unequivocally lost.
even then, I noticed it wasn't until after the game was over and the oilers lost that I remembered the value in it.
u always want your team to win. |

I dont think that enough. Ive said before I have a friend who is a pro scout for the Kings and he scouts both Buffalo and NYI and in his opinion thats a bad trade for Buffalo.
I just dont think you can gloss over the playing with Tavares thing, that's huge. Plus, the Moulson is also a UFA after this season, it just doesnt make much sense to me. - Homer
How does getting a 1st round pick not make sense? There is no guarantee the Islanders will even be good. They improved last year but they still have questionable goaltending. So you basically make a slight downgrade at the wing, get an extra 1st and if we stink, maybe we can even get another 1st for Moulson at the deadline. |

So why would the isles give up a 1st for a slight up grade at wing then? |

Vukota, this coming from one of the nice mods - you're going to have to change your location. One of my colleagues sees that and you'll miss some time on the site till it's changed. |

I fear injury...you have too.
Why would a team give up more for him to play 12 games for them than they would now where they could get 82 games outta him? - Homer
Because the majority of GM's throw common sense out the window come deadline day, especially if they think they're a piece away from the cup. It's how they've always been. I have no explanation for it, but it's been the case every year for a long time. |

It depends I guess. I would say at least a 2nd and maybe prospect or future pick. You'd have to think he'd get more than Leopold |
