I dunno if it's me, but seriously, I think people have been pissier this summer than I ever remember experiencing - myself included. Everyone has a bug up their ass it seems.

Why not just comment on the blogs you like better... I'm pretty well past this TMZ stuff between the bloggers.

It's either play Sabres jeopardy with Kevin or play mad Libs with Garth's blogs
- sbroads24

I just go where the people are first.

THEN I look for content I think is interesting.

On the second score, I really don't find hockey that interesting in the months of July and August... so yeah. I just go where the people are.

Just looking at the surface of things, I can see that.
Look a little deeper & it looks worse.... a lot worse.
This team has a lot of "what if's".
If Miller is traded can Enroth be adequate?
What if Myers regains form.
What if our young kids learn to play in the NHL & are legit.
What if someone besides Vanek can score.
What if Vanek gets traded.

I don't see them being in last place this year but bottom 5 is a real possibility.
This will be the year of learning. I will feel better about their chances next season.

Enroth is a reliable goaltender when he is locked in to play several games in a row (Our last run to the playoffs in 2011 showed that) and he has a burning desire to prove he is legit now.
I'm confident that Myers will improve as long as he comes to training camp in shape.
Darcy seems intent on going with a youth movement, so there'll be plenty of young guns on the roster this season, and I'm sure a few of them will pan out the way we want.
I'm sure that Vanek isn't the only goal scorer on the roster.
If Vanek's traded, the return should, and better be, worthwhile to our plans.

I'm optimistic that there's a chance the team surprises us, but it's not as likely as we might want it to be.

As do I. Still it would be nice to have an actual thoughtful prospect write up or camp report. Instead I know what Lindy Ruff is doing every hour

Unfortunately,
It probably is "madness" to think a guy like Moulson would re-sign here
ESP when he can still hit the jackpot as a UFA and go to a "contender"
I like your optimism,
But I just don't see it happening

- jdfitz77

It's half optimism and half countering the defeatest attitude that so many (not you) get bogged down by.

Based on some of the Canucks blogs at least it seems they're aren't too keen on trading away prospects, they seem to be in less of a "win now" mode and more of a "see what happens" mode.

Maybe...
But bloggers and fans have different opinion then a GM that might need to try & save his job
And they might have to try & do something big to get the Sedins to stay?
Vanek on that line would be the best line in hockey
And potentially by a pretty wide margin
All 3 could be 100pt + guys

Or they could even play Vanek with Kesler,
And that would finally give them a 2nd line that teams would really have to take seriously

If I'm Vancouver, I'd make a deal for Vanek AND Stafford

Sedin-Sedin-Stafford
Vanek-Kesler-Burrows
Hansen-Higgins-Kassian

That's a really nice top9

We'd have to keep half Vanek's salary,
And take back Booth... But I don't think that'd be the issue...
It would depend on whether or not they'd give up guys like Gaunce, Horvat, Shinkaruk, etc... Bc we're clearly looking for good prospects & high draft picks

They need a power forward... Stafford does not fit that mold.

His best return is going to be fetched at the trade deadline, which is when he will be moved. I refuse to get mad at the Sabres for not living in fear of an injury.
- buffalofan19

I fear injury...you have too.

Why would a team give up more for him to play 12 games for them than they would now where they could get 82 games outta him?

I see what you're saying
Just seems a little too risky for me to take guys on an expiring contract
Although,
I guess getting prospects is also pretty risky since many of them never meet projections
Hmmm...

Either way,
I believe we will be better served trading Vanek & Miller ASAP
At this point,
It's almost less about the return we'd get,
And more about moving on and fully committing to the rebuild

I still think we'd get a decent return for Miller and a good-very good return for Vanek though

AMEN!
There is no reason to keep them here. No reason to hold on to them. I really don't see their value going up much as the trade deadline approaches. There is a greater risk of their value dropping IMO.
