I dont know where the discontent is coming from? They are in a negotiation at the moment Hodgson feels he is worth more than what Buffalo is offering, which happens all the time.
I dont make it out to be a huge deal like some are. - ImThatGuy
You are correct. But when does this type of behaviour start to become a repetitive problem. If it's not playing time then it's not enough money. He obviously believes he doesn't get the respect that he deserves. Or at least his daddy thinks so.
Cody hasn't achieved much in his NHL career. Earn it first. He still has some growing up to do. That's why making him captain is ridicules. |

Plekanec is arguably one of the top second line centers in the league. He has two-way skills and is a top notch penalty killer. His value is undeniable and probably at the heart of trade discussions (if any). However, I don't think the Jets are ready to part with Evander Kane.
Rumors in Chicago are that they are still looking for a top second line center. Montreal might be looking for a defenseman, considering Emelin won't be back before December. Without knowing how healthy he'll be when he comes back, adding a classy defenseman like Brent Seabrook would greatly reduce the impact.
I'm not so sure that Montreal is looking to move anyone before the season starts. If they decide to go forward and trade players, Plekanec would be a good value in a transaction. - elcabong
Plekanec for Seabrook?
Yah that won't be enough for Seabrook.

It would require more than Plekanec to get Seabrook. - Scabeh
Agree. Last offer Friday, I offered Plek + Diaz + 1st. Think it would be a good start to the deal |

What part of it is crap?
The captaincy or the not being signed part? |

Like I said, forgot to add a 2nd after re-writing the offer since my phone died. Please don't hurt me - Frank0721
I hope you learned your lesson!!
Honestly, I don't think WPG will part with him yet. The kid has so much potential. Why would MTL need him any way when you have Gally and Galchenyuk doing well

I can see him pulling a Patrick Kane and getting past his off ice shenanigans to really reach his potential. Something about those Kane's... |

What am I trolling about?
He is asking for more than the Sabres feel he is worth; which happens all the time in negotiations.
I'm most woried about his dad like has been said before. And also IFF this keeps up, it then becomes a problem. Right now I dont see it as one. |

I did, never trust your phone when the battery is red .
Doubt Winnipeg will part ways too but it's worth a try. Lots of rumors last year and at the draft that he would be available. And MTL would need him since beside Paccioretty, we have no offensive LW. All RW and centres. Gally is RW and Galchenyuk will eventually play centre. A line of Kane-Galchenyuk-Gallagher sounds soooo good |

I think a Plekanec for Kane trade would work. I don't think, actually I know a 1 for 1 would not work but Habs also have the prospect components to get this done. It's a deal that can certianly work for both - willey101
Interesting, perhaps Beaulieu, Leblanc, Collberg, Thrower, could fetch some interests. I would think habs will pass if any of Gally, Galchy and Tinordi is involved, but as for the rest, it's possible |

Florida would have to give back Campbell in that deal for salary reasons. |

Any idea what Cody thinks he's worth?
I'm thinking he's worth around 2-2.5 million per for 3 years. |

Jets won't move Kane unless they get a top 3 forward under 25 and prospects/drafts to boot.
They Jets would view Plekanec for Kane the same way Habs would view Little for Subban. |

To FLA: washed up goalie, washed up defenseman, sissy whose useless without his sister
To VAN: Better goalie, younger and better future, Better defenseman, younger and better future, 2 1st round picks, likely lottery picks
so fair. - razr
It's the classic "currently good vs potentially good" trade. If Markstrom and Gudbranson pan out and the Canucks got two very solid players with those picks, FLA gets fleeced. On the flip side if one or both of those guys really disappoints, plus you never know how picks will pan out, FLA could "win" the trade handily. Sedin is still very very skilled and Luongo is still an elite goalie IMO. Maybe make that 2nd 1st rounder a 2nd instead? Maybe make it conditional on Sedin resigning? Just spit-ballin here. |

If I had to guess, Winnipeg would probably want Galchenyuk and Jarred Tinordi for Kane. |

Good lord.
Wouldn't even trade Galchenyuk alone for him. |

Well Plek is 30 which is not that bad. So if they do Plek + Beaulieu + 2nd you still think it's not enough?

Rumors are in the $4MM range, but those are just rumors. But that is all we can base it off of at this point.
In honesty it could be language of the contract. NTC/NMC, term, etc. I have not heard anything in awhile, Darcy is good at keeping things quiet. |
