Where did I say you were wrong?

Shows how pessimistic of a person you are if you are drawing those conclusions. I tried opening up to have a discussion with you about it, in a civil manner, and you openly admitted that you cant even read what I write.

Your mind is closed. You are extremely in love with Vanek, and nothing can change that. I can handle that.

- theblueandgold

Actually you started off that 'civil discussion' by laughing at his opinion and mocking his admiration for a player that's scored 20 goals in 7 straight seasons.

You are right about Vanek being a 'Hossa' type player though.

I love it.

Except my Braves are now done after Hudson's broken Ankle.

That looked awful, tough way to end a career.

Go Tigers.

He sticks up for team mates and over achieves

He deserves it by default

- navinrjohnson

By that logic,
Guys like Adam Mair would've been ok to name Captain
Sorry,
But that's ridiculous

I'd don't want a Captain "by default"
I want someone to EARN it

NO captain for this season

Being a lifelong Yankees fan (hides), guys like Overbay, Wells and Hafner can only carry you so far, especially with suspect starting pitching.

Alfonso still has a bit of pop (17 Homers, if I'm not mistaken), and the new frugal Yankees are only on the hook for $5 million of his salary next season.

I AM NOT, NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN, AN A-ROD FAN. (Just so we clear that up)

I know it is not a popular choice with you and some here. But Flipping Vanek to Minny for an exchange of Dumba+Nino+Heatley would be a great move IMO.

Heatley comes in here and scores 20 goals by the deadline and he can be flipped for additional assets.

So really it would Be
Vanek for Dumba+Nino+Heatley
Heatley for 1st rd pick+ prospect at the deadline

All in all it would be

Vanek for Heatley+Dumba+Nino+1st+prospect

Which is a really good deal.

I know, i know he is a "murderer"

- ImThatGuy

I don't like Nino, we don't need Dumba (our defense prospects are stacked), and Heatley can't be traded right now bc of his injury...

But I get where you're going here

Swap out a couple different prospects,
And that's a great deal for us IMO
Can u do a "player to be named later" in hockey like they do in baseball?
That way, when Heatley can pass a physical they can take him off IR & ship him to us
Otherwise, we'll have to wait till he's healthy...
That's risky
What if Vanek gets hurt?
Or is having a crappy season (by his standards)?
Then maybe Minny doesn't wanna make that trade anymore
I think we have to try & move him ASAP
Last thing we need is his sh!tty attitude as a distraction this year

In terms of their type of play, yes. In terms of leadership, no. Nash is a way better leader than Vanek. I thought Nash would have a great season in NY this year. I was horribly disappointed. But I think he may have a good bounce back year. I
- HonkFortheGoose

How? He had just as many goals and points as Vanek who has his best season in years? Nash was New Yorks best player. Besides hank

I already did. In the sentences that followed that one. Or did you just stop reading once you got to that sentence?
- HonkFortheGoose

So him playing all the other years doesn't count for anything? You made such a bold statement by saying he never wanted to be here

I dont even know why minny would give up assests for vanek...he played college there, he loves the city. His best friend will be playing there, and the team will be great. They will trade (if possible) or amnesty buy out heatley and sign vanek, once again winning free agency.
