Yup. Exactly what I said.
Gotta give to get. I don't think if Fransons value will get any higher than it is right now. If we can use that to upgrade at C then that's okay with me.
Disagree with it, but don't moan and groan about it - UsernameUnknown
I don't know if I personally would do this...
But I also haven't seen as much of Franson as you probably have |

So we are going to give Franson to upgrade Bozak to Stastny?
OH MY!! LOL
Not moaning and groaning, just laughing at the stupidity of it all.

Realistically, I wouldn't either. I'm just ready to ship out Bozak. |

I realize they can get rid of him anytime and it's just money...but why do it in the first place, just give him 3yrs and extend if he is doing a good job. I get the whole idea of a 5yr plan so to not make hasty decisions but the flip side is that it can create complacency as well.
Oh well, I guess no biggie cause MLSE prints money so whatever. - Cooshie
I could see complacency if it was a guaranteed term/contract. But everyone stepping into that role knows the rammifications of failure.. if he doesn't then yeesh |

Grabovski > Bozak.
Stastny > Bozak.
Fairly simple concept. |

I agree Stats is better than Bozey without a doubt. I'm sure stats would return to pt a game player if he lined up with Lupul and Kessel. However Grabbo I don't think is better than Bozak. His game is too sporadic in my honest opinion. |

How about this:
Bozak @ 4.2mill > Grabovski @ 5.5mill
Kadri @ 3-4mill (??) > Stastny @6.5mill
Fairly simple concept, huh? |

serious question RJ...
thoughts on the seguin trade? - dragus84
My thoughts...partying aspect, although probably a problem, was blown out of proportion. I think the Bruins are trying to snag another cup in the next, say 3 years, (I know that's stating the obvious) and mortgaging some of the future for an IMO immediate upgrade at wing for at least a season in Eriksson. I think they also knew they wanted to tie up Bergeron and Rask to long term contracts and kind of came to the recognition that they would have to part with Seguin to keep their 'core' together. Krejci, Bergeron, Rask, Lucic, and Seguin just isn't going to happen and Seguin was the most expendable and found himself on the outside looking in. Cap wise, partying wise, and quite frankly a lack of production left the Bruins with their hands tied. I don't like that they gave up on him so young, and actually I'm not convinced they did give up on him. I just think it was the path of least resistance and possibly the pinnacle return of the Stanley Cup. It also allowed to go out and get someone like Iginla, which was in the back of their mind throughout the proccess.
That being said, I think Seguin is going to have a great career, when he gets his poop together, which I think he will. I just think he didn't quite fit in, grasp, wait for it, Claude's system. Plus he is just awful in the playoffs
Silverlining...Bruins core is still relatively young and made the bullet easier to swallow, and Eriksson steadily puts up 70-80 points and Morrow is a very good prospect IMO.

Fair enough. I've seen Grabo put up better point totals consistantly with worse line mates than what Bozak has though. |

Grabbo can be out muscled by 95% of the league. He sucked last year because he wasn't motivated all season because of his contract. love the guy.. but he deserved the buy out. |

I agree, really. He tanked last year. Could have been a number of things. But I would have gave him another shot in an offensive role before the boot |

Of course, but with Kessel already a hot/cold player and Kadri starting to look the same way its nice that the leafs can rely on a guy that brings what they know he can just about every night. But honestly, I would've done whatever it took to land Statsny from Col or signing Lecavalier (even if he wanted a baby elephant from India and 6M dollars) just to shore up that 1st line position until they can see for sure if Kadri continues to get stronger and smarter. |

Right, because if the Leafs traded for Stastny and kept Grabovski, they would have no problems with signing all their RFA's....
however, even if we forget about money.
