Leafs really need to clean up some of those contracts. I'd trade Dion now while he still has value and then you can build around your youth in the back end. It would be a painful year but it would clear up the cap space to sign your RFA's, give Lupul the C and possibly you can offer sheet a player like Pietro and have assets back for Phaneuf (1st and good prospect).

So the Leafs have 6.17mil left in space. Assuming Kadri and Franson see the light (or the payday they could get in 2 years) they'll both need to sign for around 2.5mil to give Fraser 1mil. Nonis needs to package Liles and a prospect like Ashton for a draft pick. He has no room to take salary in a trade, which could really bite him during the season. Or trade Franson for an RFA of equal value with 1 year left on his current deal.

What teams are looking to trade for a guy like Phaneuf? Probably not a bottom feeder... so the first won't be all that special, unlikely to ever be as good as Phaneuf.

And d-man prospects are becoming as iffy as goalies. They take so long to develop, and so much can go wrong with their development.

Whats the point in removing the most important piece on the team, without getting a sure thing back? It's not like he's too old to compete or anything like that.

More benefit to keeping him and adding peices to help him than trading him for spare parts.

Why would kessel agree to stay if we deal a key price if spare parts and get worse? Kessel says bye if we go in the tank.

I would be all for trading Dion if we were getting something worthwhile in return, like a high 1st (top 10 at least) or a blue chip Center prospect, but thats unlikley. anything short of that I think its just shot in the dark or a lateral move.

the heater is a fan that blows the engine heat into the cab....this one not liquid cooled so no actual heater kit....2 cup holders protected by holy (frank) handles ...it can only tow 1400lbs, but with car in drive it may help...but not alone....I've towed out several quads and snowmobiles though
