Jonathon Toews only scored 3 goals in the playoffs. I'm pretty sure I'll be looking past that going forwards.
. - joel878
Accept Toews is a Selke candidate just about every year.
And a season is longer than the playoffs... |

In my completely sarcastic post I called the Leafs idiots for choosing to pay 4.2mill to Bozak over 5.5mill to Grabovski....
I guess you didn't read my posts from just before...
Whatever.....
You need to build your your low self esteem - not everyone is calling you an idiot!!
- Cooshie
No i didn't read your post before, and tbh i've never seen you post here, i dont know you, and there is a mirage of retards on this board who actually whole heartedly say things like what you did, forgive me for expecting the same out of you LOL. |

I say 60 points. I agree, not the perfect option but of all UFA centers, he was the best of the lot. He has great chemistry with Kessel. He's great on faceoffs. Give's u a consistent effort every night. Sure he doesn't put up big points for a center but he does lots of other things right. - GCHonda
No he doesn't.
Kessel has great chemistry with JVR and Lupul.. Bozak is there for the ride. |
|
|
|
That would be a miracle.
But I doubt it. Has yet to break 50 points playing with 2 top line wingers..
Embarrassing. - jbold
Bozak is trending towards 50+..
27, 32, 47pts then last year he was pacing for 50pts over full season.
Unless you think he has completely topped out and last year was the year he stops progressing offensively, he should be close to 55pts (which is where I think he'll be). Still crappy for our 1C but whatcha gonna do?! |

Fact. Carlyle played him more than any other Leaf forward. Fact. Nonis felt his value was enough to sign him to a 5 year deal.
Now I know these morons know less then you however .....

Edmonton was one of them. But hell. Who would want to play for a poopty team like Edmonton? - jbold
If Edmonton had paid more for Clarkson, that would have seriously screwed up their long term cap management.
They'd be saying good-bye to one of the young guns. |

The problem on these boards, and a lot of these debates.. Is that people go to insane extremes off of extraordinarily small sample periods. It's the root of all assumptions.
If your argument starts based off of 48 games of a 500 game career, well, that was your first mistake. - joel878
Yeah because he's young, healthy and entering his prime years. Clowe is not.
You talk about my argument, your Towes argument is just terrible.
Should we talk about Nathan Horton's deal being much better than Clarkson's because in the past he's been better?
Clowe's 48 game sample is his present state as a hockey player. |

I'm pretty sure I just backed up my points.
He said he was to old, he's one year older than Clarkson.
He's scored about a hundred more points in the NHL, in roughly the same amount of games.
Forget the clueless argument, cause I don't really ever go there unless the person has earned it.. (Which I feel like the evidence supports in this case).. Those are pretty compelling numbers to suggest there's at least a small chance clowes contract may turn out to be less of a nightmare than clarksons. |

What skill set?
He's got stone hands and an extremely low hockey IQ - jbold
The fact that Carlyle likes him for his system and that he plays significant PK minutes tells me his hockey IQ is fine.
There are some flaws in Bozak's game (namely, a lack of confidence to create his own offense with the puck), but he thinks the game well enough. |

Fact. Kostka and Holzer played on the first pairing unit against teams top lines.
But yeah... Since Carlyle made that decision... It's the right one and it wasnt a mistake |

It's Grabo that had ZERO chemistry with JVR, Lupul, and Kessel. Negative chemistry, in fact. At least Bozak doesn't harm their play. The top six wingers had no idea where Grabo was going when they played together. |

Oh, I get it. So extreme assumptions based on ridiculously small sample periods are acceptable if 5 years of age difference are factored in.
Thanks for clearing that up. |

Stone hands, yet he's our best shootout option. Stone hands, yet he finishes in tight, stone hands, yet in his first NHL goal he was seen completely undressing a defender and going top ched. Low IQ, yet he is the one responsible for 70% of our faceoffs, the powerplay, the penalty kill, the defensive responsibilities on our top line, and a lot of the time a big play, goal or assist in a crucial moment. You have an extremely low hockey IQ, not to notice the things Bozak does well out there and thats pretty much all there is to it. I'd love to see you put up 128 points in 59 games of JR A. Must be because he has no skill set. |

And a single season is more than 48 games to.
But yes, that was more or less my point. We have no argument here. |

You just used a much smaller sample size yourself when you brought-up Johnathan Toews.
And BTW, there's only year difference in age between Clowe/Clarkson. |

Pretty much this!
My main reason is because he comes about 1.3 mill cheaper against the cap. |

Well JVR is not a center. Our 2 top centers are Bozak & Kadri. Grabbo is gone, so get over it. Sink or swim we have our 2 top centers next season. No amount of criticizing Bozak is going to change anything. It is, what it is.

Ok, it appears what I thought was a simple point was lost on a few people.
I was pointing out how ridiculous it would be to draw assumptions from that pathetically small sample period..
We're talking about a 22 game difference in retartedly small sample periods. They're both ridiculous to draw conclusions from. |
