What's the over/under on how many more times we'll debate the merits of Tyler Bozak before the season even starts?
With about 70 days to go, I'll set it at 40.
Seriously, it's not that big of a deal. He wasn't a great option, but he was the best of a bunch of less than stellar options.
If the top line continues to perform with him there, it's not the end of the world. If he gets bumped down by a better option, again, it's not a problem. - Leeman4Gilmour
Hopefully Kadri ends up the first line C. Bolland the 2nd line C. And Bozak traded at the deadline for anything |

Bozak's contract wasn't bad. I thought he'd get more. He definitely could have elsewhere, but he has it so good in Toronto. He gets top ice-time with two PPG star wingers. |

3 goals all year. Holy poop. If the Leafs signed him to that deal we'd hear about it a lot more. - RogerRoeper
The bad news is, if you take away his poopty 48 game season, he's been way better of a player than Clarkson. |

You truly backed your comments up with facts there eh. LOL. You're not even worth a conversation. - Rysko81
I guess sarcasm goes right over some peoples head!!

57 points for Bozie imo. 19 goals, 38 assists, +2. |

The past doesn't matter. He's got more mileage on his body. Clarkson is the more healthy, durable one right now.
It's 3 goals. You can't look past that. |

No, it's really not terrible at all.
What I find funny is how much time and effort some people on here spend discussing Bozak when the Clarkson deal is far more likely to blow up in our faces.
I like Clarkson and I'm glad we brought him here, but let's all acknowledge that was a high risk/high reward deal. Bozak's deal is such a non-problem that I can't believe it's the only thing that gets discussed around here. |

That would be a miracle.
But I doubt it. Has yet to break 50 points playing with 2 top line wingers..
Embarrassing. |

1 year older.. About a hundred more career points in about the same amount of games, and way more consistent.
Granted, not 'way' better, but don't take it out on me that you're obviously clueless. |

If he cracks 50 (and I agree he will) while playing well under Carlyle's system and on special teams, he'll be an absolute steal at 4.2 mil.
And then we can all talk about something else, right? |

In my completely sarcastic post I called the Leafs idiots for choosing to pay 4.2mill to Bozak over 5.5mill to Grabovski....
I guess you didn't read my posts from just before...
Whatever.....
You need to build your your low self esteem - not everyone is calling you an idiot!!

A miracle? over a 82 game season Bozak would've gotten about 50pts. About 7 more pts is not a miracle, its improvement over an offseason, something he's very capable of with his skill set. Watch the guy play without the puck, and see how hard a time defenders have keeping track of his movement, he's extremely elusive and underrated for what he's brought thus far. He will only get better with the assured confidence his contract brings, you'll see. |

The mileage on Clowe makes him a consolation prize for everyone who wanted in on Clarkson; I don't know why that's so hard to understand. |

Jonathon Toews only scored 3 goals in the playoffs. I'm pretty sure I'll be looking past that going forwards.
The problem on these boards, and a lot of these debates.. Is that people go to insane extremes off of extraordinarily small sample periods. It's the root of all assumptions.
If your argument starts based off of 48 games of a 500 game career, well, that was your first mistake. |

I say 60 points. I agree, not the perfect option but of all UFA centers, he was the best of the lot. He has great chemistry with Kessel. He's great on faceoffs. Give's u a consistent effort every night. Sure he doesn't put up big points for a center but he does lots of other things right. |
