Not much going on, might as well stir up some crap.
Sedins will be the best 2nd line in the league, Kesler will be a powerhouse 1st liner with Richardson and Higgins and Kassien will load up the 3rd line with strength and scoring ability. Lou will show the Vancouver fans why he's paid the big bucks and the Canucks will fight their way to the cup this year. Go ahead, laugh and then agree in June 2014 when I write "I told you so" |

If you look at the list of goalies traded over the past 20 years, it is virtually always a complete steal for the team acquiring the goalie. Whether they were a #1 or a potential #1 the return has not been good. Here's a few: Roy, Luongo, Kipper, Lehtonen, Hasek, Rask, Vokoun, Belfour, Vernon, Halak, Bernier.
Why would it be any different with Schneider? Why would he be the exception? - KB3Point0
Did you read anything I actually wrote?
Let's recap: I said Schneider was in his prime, a number one goaltender, with term left on his contract. How many other times has a goalie like this been available.
And you give me a list of:
Roy: I already commented on this. It is considered on of the most lopsided trades in NHL history
Luongo: I already commented on this. One example of a complete steal by Vancouver
Kipper: At the time Kipper was traded to the Flames he wasn't even the backup. He was the backup's backup.
Lehtonen: Starter, Prime, but was an RFA.
Hasek: If we are talking about the trade to Detroit, then at that point Hasek was 36 years old. Buffalo still got a 1st rounder and Slava Kozlov for him.
Rask: Hadn't even played an NHL game when he was traded.
Vokoun: Exiting the prime of his career, starting goalie, had 3 years left on his contract, was traded for a 1st rounder and 2 second rounders.
Belfour: A starter, exiting his prime, and a pending free agent.
Vernon: Starter, injury plagued and exiting his prime, 1 year left on contract. I'll give you this one.
Halak: Prime of his career, shared time as starting goalie, was an RFA
Bernier: Not exactly prime, backup goalie, was an RFA
So like I said, how many times has a situation occurred where a starting goalie, in his prime, with term left on his contract is available. The answer is not very often. |

Another troll-fest today, eh? It was a nice day out too! - Nucker101
from what i understand based on the bans handed out here yesterday, trolling is basically anything/anyone with the gall to question Mike Gillis' decision making. |

Nah, it's only when fans of other teams question him. We do it all the time without repercussion. |

Roy MacGregor of the Globe and Mail: Luongo’s former agent Gilles Lupien
“I played on a team [Montreal] with nine Hockey Hall of Famers,” he says. “I’ve never seen a star treated like that. I think personally he’s been treated like a piece of paper, a fourth-line player.”
Lupien to Luongo when the Canucks were trying to trade him.
“Every team knows your contract,” Lupien told Luongo. “It’s not your contract that’s the problem – it’s what they’re asking for.”

You understand the irony in this statement don't you Smokes? I don't think either of us can brag about our team's fan bases. But we must love them warts and all. |
