Attention to SOME Canuck fans : It's ok to admit MG has totally phucked up in regards to Luongo vs Schneider...he has, but ALL gm's phuck up ! Stan Bowman phucked up after the Cup win in 2010 by letting certain guys go in favour of others. It is a hit and miss business. - HawkfaninBC
Yes, it has been messy, but at the end of the day the Canucks still have a excellent #1 Goalie that has a good cap hit as well as a very good prospect in Horvat. There are so many circumstances and events that got to this point and it has not been smooth by any means, but this is what the team has at this point. |

Nobody's claiming the situation wasn't handled poorly, but there are other people at fault than just MG—like AV, the Aquilinis, and LuoUngo himself. |

Quite true, but MG is the boss of the hockey team , so it really does come down to him. |

How the (frank) is he responsible for any of this? He was nothing but a class act throughout the process. Blaming him for any of this is ridiculous. |

Again see my previous post....As far as the Bruins and Flames...it was done. they had to take it back off the table when Iggy refused. - Iggysbff
The deal was not done. The paperwork was not filed. Iginla was not a Bruin. The framework was agreed upon, but it was reported as done, not reported on as agreed upon in principle. Sloppy work by a new analyst trying to make a name for himself. |

Could also be a warning to Lack not to trust mamnagement(I doubt it is this), but if you analyze it it could be. - VANTEL
Not really. You're grasping at straws trying to find the negative in a humourous tweet. |

If the analyst would wait each time for the paperwork to be done, we would never know until a few hours after. The trade-call takes quite a bit of time.
Your argument is silly. |

Has MG ever shown any humility in public and admitted he has made a real mess of the whole situation. Maybe he has , but I don't recall him ever standing in front of a mic and apologizing to the fans of the Canucks for the mess. |

Yes, but Aquillini is the one that wanted to sign Luongo to the lifetime contract, AV is the one the played Schneider ahead of Luongo and Luongo had a NTC which limited Gillis's options in trading him. There is a lot more to the story then "Gillis is an idiot"
(for the record I am not a huge MG fan, but I don't think it's fair that he take 100% of the blame for everything that transpired.) |

For sure there are a lot of twists and turns to the whole story , but it would be refreshing to see Gillis take responsibility as the HEAD of the Canucks Hockey Business. When something goes off the rails in any business it usually falls on the head of the CEO. |

I don't know, I guess when your dealing with huge egos it is very difficult for them to admit any fault. |

By this reasoning 99.9% of the deals being reported are not done. |

I can't believe I read this whole thread. I would imagine that watching an entire season of the Jersey Shore would have been less painful. |
