Point is, it wasn't a rumor... If one of the people directly involved in the process speaks to it, it no longer is an internet rumor.

Why are you guys going on and on about this. BOTH Chiarelli and Feaster agreed the deal was done. Iggy RE-NEGED on his list. Feaster had to go back and tell Boston it wasn't happening. Ken King admitted they (frank)ed up by not getting the list in writing. They ended up having to accept an inferior offer.

That is the FACTS from the guys involved themselves. So Ward reported on a deal he told was done by Both sides. Rare case.

Could also be a warning to Lack not to trust mamnagement(I doubt it is this), but if you analyze it it could be.

Do you get it that it was reported as a done deal? That it was not reported as a conversation, but that it was reported by Aaron Ward as having been completed and agreed to and that he was wrong?
