Because it has been reported by many different sources that Luongo was unwilling to waive his no trade clause to go to Toronto last summer. He changed his mind sometime after the new CBA came out, but by that point there was no interest in acquiring him without the Canucks eating a chunk of his salary and cap hit (which there is no way the Canucks would, or should, do).

Relaying information that has been reported and corroborated by many reliable sources is different from making wild assumptions and passing them off as fact.
