What is the deal with Ruhwedel's contract anyway? He couldn't be sent down last year as part of his contract, but he can this year?

Yes it was agreed that if he signed in Buffalo he would play in the NHL allowing his contract to kick in. If he had played in Rochester and not Buffalo his contract lwouldn't kick in until this season or something to that effect. It is a standard EL deal though.

It's 35% not 25%. Just squeaked under.

Mouslon had 30 during JT rookie year. They weren't constantly on the 1st line together. I'm just saying, getting Moulson and a 1sr isn't giving Vanek away

IDK as it's something I don't think I've ever seen before honestly. 99.9% of the time college guys go right to the minors.

DeKeyser played for Detroit right away but ended up playing in the playoffs for Grand Rapids so again IDK.

It does make you worse though both now and the future. Moulson is not, and never will be, a guy you can build a team around.

Is Vanek? Granted Vanek is better, but you can't and won't win every trade/draft pick in a rebuild. The object is to hit on a few and possibly hit big by either tanking and drafting high or getting multiple picks and increasing your odds on hitting on a late first rounder like Giroux for example. Keeping Vanek to start the season hurts the rebuild. It hurts the chances of us landing a top pick

Agree and I'm a big Vanek fan but at some point you have to cut the cord and totally start over. This organization is so slow or afraid to push all in on a complete re-build. Its time to sh!t or get off the dam pot.

Not much more to it.

He could have signed an ATO and started (and finished) in Rochester.

Since he started his ELC in Buffalo he did not qualify to be on the AHL playoff roster.

This was ideal for him. In addition to the contract year and NHL experience, he got to return and finish college and graduate.

He will start the year in Rochester.

My thoughts:
-McNabb will be in Rochester or traded.
-Sulzer and Tuhlihnder will share 7th spot.
- Tropp will make the roster. He is not exempt from waivers
- One or 2 of Armia, Larsson and Flynn will make the roster.
- McCormick will be on the roster or traded.

For games at a time. Not saying Moulsen is better but in the last two years...
