I wouldn't well ok I would as long as the mention of Stafford is removed all together than I am good with it, guy is a complete douche bag.

If we sign Morrow (With all the silence right now, anything could be going on), then I say he should go to the third line with Girgs and Ennis, which I think would be a solid line: A gritty veteran teaching the ropes to a young, powerful prospect, with a sneaky, young offensive force. I like the sound of that

To all you Sabres fans that are still drinking the kool-aid enough to think Vanek and Miller will stay/resign here you go fools.

Thomas Vanek:"You'd like to be on a team where you feel, going into camp, you're contending, Right now in Buffalo, we're rebuilding, which is not the best scenerio for me."

Straight from the Van the Mans mouth.

The sooner they are gone the better it will be. They will become cancers as they get more and more unhappy playing for the last place Sabres. And if they get seriously hurt we can't trade them. So just get it done now Darcy and save us the anxiety all season.

I'd rather see Tropp on the team then Kaleta

if he has the wheels

- homiedclown

How about a 4th line of

Tropp-Girgensons-Kaleta

That is a gritty tough smack you in the face line right there.

And how did you get those players ?? You have nothing to gloat about with your forwards, you basically sucked to get them, so don't come here having a go at the Sabres for "maybe" doing it. Also like every other draft pick you have potential, you have no guarantees and a couple of injuries is all that will effect the balance.

Don't kid yourself, he's going to go to Minnesota if he gets to UFA.

Hasn't Darcy already stated they are starting the season here. They're both likely staying until the deadline.

How about they don't waste a free year of Girgensons contract.

Keep him in the AHL playing top line mins instead of 6-8 mins a night on the 4th line.

IMO Vanek forces a trade prior to the start of the season.

It sounds to me like he's been forcing it for 2 months now Darcy said he doesn't want to take money back in the deal for him or miller. If he can find away around that he should be able to get what he wants for both of them. I know it's easier said than done but you'd think with an owner like Pegula it'd be doable?

I agree, but in the somewhat likely chance that he does make the team, I'd place him on the third or second line with REAL line-mates. I don't want to "Grigo" him. I mentioned before that if we sign Morrow by chance, Girgs should center him and Ennis, which would be a great blend of leadership, grit, offense, and speed. If we don't sign Morrow, then Ott would be fantastic, too.

I don't get the contract argument. But we will agree to disagree. If he is good enough to play, play him and worry about the contract 2-3 years from now.

Put him on the 3rd/4th line and have him play the PK and he is getting 10-12 minutes a night playing against top competition. Rather then playing 16 against guys that may not make the big leagues.

He is playing where many players of his age and talent should, the AHL. The transfer agreement IMO hinders many players development. Their choice is either the NHL or CHL at 18 and 19 yrs of age. Many then end up taking 2-4 yrs in the AHL before they become NHL regulars.

IMO Girgensons playing 2 years of AHL hockey will make him way more prepared to play in the NHL full time as a 20yr old, plus gives the Sabres a guy that plays on an EL deal till he's 23yrs old.

Burning a year of his contract might not be a bad thing. Its one less year of leverage he will have for a bigger contract. But I agree hhe should be in the AHL

There's too much risk of them getting hurt to keep them 3/4 of the season.

Anaheim will not have a year like they did last year. Bobby Ryan's goal scoring will be missed. I don't see Nashville having the offense to make it to the playoffs either. Would not be shocked at all if the avs squeaked out a spot. And as far as our defense goes, Joe Sacco was a HORRIBLE coach. Couldn't teach defense for his life. Roy couldn't possibly have a worse coaching scheme so there will be improvement there. Also Adam Foote will be coaching the defense this year so I believe that will help. And lastly, the avs have a full time goalie coach which should improve Varlys play. All in all the avs have more upside than the sabres and I see the sabres being towards the bottom of the standings come the trade deadline. Sabres will move Vanek and Miller and the rebuild will be officially in full swing. I love Grigs though! Gonna be a beast.

Goaltending is overrated in the NHL. I'm sure the hawks would have won the cup with varlamov so he's definitely serviceable. Plus if our forwards can carry us I'm sure the Avs can definitely be a playoff contender.
- MattDuchene9

No way you can say that you can be 100% sure the Hawks would win with Varlamov. I'm guessing they don't get past the 2nd round. He is a routine choker.

Morrow would be so awesome! But it might not happen

I think that he could round out a solid veteran nucleus to bring us back to 2005-2006. I really do. There are a lot of similarities between our current roster and the previous great one:

-Young, talented forwards wanting to break through
-A solid D with heavy hitting guns
-A nucleus of vets
-An up and coming goaltender with something to prove (Enroth)
