Colorado. Following Edmonton's path to nowhere.

We made the playoffs in in duchenes first year. I'd be shocked if the Avs didn't make the playoffs especially since 8 out of 14 teams do

I think Edm and Col are on the outside looking in.

Nashville? Seriously? Wouldn't be surprised if we can contend with Minnesota and Vancouver is no lock.

Nice job Kevin. Way to Garth Garth! I do like Tropp, but I don't see him starting the season in Buffalo. I think he'll be the first F called up for injury, but I just think that there is too much competition at the F position in Buffalo.
Vanek - Hodgson - Ott
Leino - Ennis - Stafford
Foligno - Grigorenko - Flynn
Ellis - Porter - Kaleta
Scott.

Those are your top 13. Tropp might beat out Flynn, but I think Ellis is a lock for this team. Not because of talent, but because management loves his attitude, and this season is about building a culture for the future.

- truthbluth

Ellis is a LOCK for Rochester, where he will be the team captain...
Darcy basically said that was the plan for this season

I think Nashville is the 8th seed next year.

Looks like the sabres are a lock to get Reinhart with that lineup!
- MattDuchene9

That's the plan!
(I hope)
We just gotta trade Miller & Vanek to be sure
I could see Jersey being pretty crappy this year now w/o Kovy, and Brodeur is on his last legs
There's a few other teams that will suck pretty bad too

I don't see why people are so high on Dallas they've added seguin and horcoff and lost eriksson and jagr last season. Not that good of an offseason

Goaltending is overrated in the NHL. I'm sure the hawks would have won the cup with varlamov so he's definitely serviceable. Plus if our forwards can carry us I'm sure the Avs can definitely be a playoff contender.
- MattDuchene9

U guys should contend for a spot
Even with O'reilly on the wing, you're still very deep at center
I don't like Stastny as a "#1"
But with u guys, he's prob the best 3rd line center in the league
And if u trade him for a defenseman, O'reilly can always move back to center if need be
Defense and average goaltending could kill ya though

Stastny is number 2 this year duchene is definitely our number 1. We should definitely be better with tanguay and Downie being healthy this year because he's like ott for the avalanche. Wouldn't mind seeing stastny get moved for a top 2 defenseman

That looks about right,
But I wouldn't be surprised if Anaheim missed. At some point Koivu & Selanna will just be too old.
I could see the AVs or Oilers jumping ahead of the Preds as well
Phoenix could be a dark horse if they trade some defense for scoring

Lindy has never used a back up properly.

Lehtonen will start 72 games this year if he can stay healthy.

Don't think the defense is good enough either.

well played

side note, I would rather see tropp play 65 games and scott only playing 17 games

I hope he does. I'd rather him than Flynn. This team isn't tough enough.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Stastny play more of a "#3" role though
There's no way they'll play MacKinnon in a "defensive" role
The way it looks now, I'd guess Stastny would get those assignments

I hope Tropp get some legit time in the top9
We have some guys coming up (Grigorenko, Armia, Girgensons, Larsson) that will all get a real good look once they are brought up...
So this year might be the only chance Tropp gets to show he can be more than a 4th liner
