Turris. sign the same one as him.
- senstroll

Where I agree the potential is similar, Turris' numbers show he didn't have a good season like Kadri did last year up to that point. Doubtful Kadri signs a 2yr 2.8mil contract. Shouldn't be too far off though, which is promising.

Duchene first deal after the entry level deal.
- burn

I think that would be too much, Duchene is a better player, and has multiple seasons of being in the upper echilon of the league. With that he certainly shouldn't get more than 3.5 a year.

they have to find a number that works for both the team and player, Turris signed 3.5 x 5. That would be perfect in this case. if he wants more, (frank) him the greedy bum, help he team keep some of its players also. Kessel and Dion will need to fit also.

FYI duchenes ppg in his elc (first 3 years) is .68....... Kadri's is .64. Comparison is valid

If Nonis got Kadri for 5 years at that price I'd kiss him. But right now that eliminates someone from this team. Floating somewhere between Wilson, Turris and Duchene, it's sounding like a 2.5mill aav for 2 seasons is feasible.

Trying to find comparable to Franson as well. Erik Johnson?

Kadri isn't signing for 3.5x5. He'll get 3.5 max(hopefully a bit less) on a 2 year deal. That way he can prove he's worth more as a #1C.

Fair point, I hadn't noticed their numbers rounded up that close to each other.

i think the cap will be ok for next year. 2.5mil off the books from buyouts/retained salary plus the cap rise of hopefully 4-5mil. that 2.5mil alone should cover kessel's raise. also i think liles will be moved at some point to make room

Duchenes numbers are neglagably higher (3-4 pts more over 82 games) but his done it more consistently over a longer period. That's why I'm at 3.5max.... Maybe a bit lower.

2 yrs at something a shade under 3.5 is reasonable, and should work with the cap.

what if he doesn't prove it? Even though he had a good 48 games, against lesser competition as 3rd line/2nd line center, when the competition was tougher his production dropped quiet a bit. He may want more guaranteed money/years. Then when he is 27/28 and a FA, if he does step up its a huge contract coming

I agree, been number crunching and I don't think it matters if we do sign Fraser (unless he wants more than 1mil) as we will need another body to fulfill the 23 man roster. So Nonis has roughly $5,700,00o to spend on Kadri and Franson. I think he can make that work. 2.7-3.2mil for Kadri, 2.5-3mil for Franson?

I think Frason is looking for his paycheck though, the guy has been getting 1-2 year deals his whole career.

Edit: actually $5,300,000. eesh...

Pretty sure you need a 23 man roster to enter the season no?

Edit: never mind! 23 is max, min is 20. I'm not worried at all then.
