I would think Oiler mgmt. should go shopping for first round picks that haven't quite played out and need an change of scenery. Glen Sather did it successfully throughout his time in Edmonton (see the shopping spree of the 98-99 season). To me, that is the leverage the team has with Ales Hemsky. Look at the difference in Keaton Ellerby's play with LA as an example.

Look at all of those other teams you've mentioned, and look at their goalie...now look at ours.

So the Oilers are doomed this year because of the division? To write off a team who has improved in the offseason, before any games have been played is stupid.
