A good majority of the players on this team all seriously underachieved last year. If even half of them actually play up to their ability, this team will be much more entertaining to watch.

I think that's a great point. I think the morale of the team last year was down. Significantly. It seemed like they couldn't shake the rust off from the lockout and were scorned for some reason. It seemed once Rolston came in, they found some form of how to play together, but still had a tough time getting it put together.

Like you said, if they start playing at a fraction of their ability (Stafford, Vanek, Hodge, Ennis, Foligno), I think we will see some enjoyable hockey. Plus it's hockey and if they underachieve, it's really easy to get mad at them.

We need good goal tending . (didn't have that)
We need good defenceman. (didn't have that)
We need good scoring from the forwards, (didn't have that often enough)
We need good coaching . WE didn't have that .
We need good beer prices

I don't think the goaltending was really to blame at all. The D in front of the goaltending was atrocious. They gave up the most shots per game in the league. You're not going to win much doing that and you're hanging your goaltender out to dry.

The rest I can agree with. Though I'm intrigued as to what Rolston will get out of these guys. I don't think he was the "sexy" pick, but he may turn out to actually be a very smart pick, seeing as how they are trending in a younger direction.

could be right. or we both could be right and wrong . gonna have to see what direction the team goes. we should know 20 games into the season. I like the idea of the young guys taking over .Coworker hear some interviews with the new guys in who is your goalie . Enroth. Also regarding Miller and Vanek. They said they didn't care , it's their team now.

You might be onto something, rather than on something. I feel as though the team we'll *hopefully* have this year is similar to the last great one we had 8 years ago.

Criteria:

-Young, seasoned forwards wanting to make the jump and be impact players (Girgs, Grigo, Armia, after a little time in Rochester, Flynn, Tropp, etc.)

-Solid group of D, mix of vets and young guns (Erhoff, Myers, Tallinder, Pysyk, McBain, Weber, etc.)


-Up and coming goalie with something to prove (Enroth)

-Nucleus of vets to teach the ins and outs (Ott, Tallinder, Vanek, if he stays, Leino, Stafford)
