agree, i don't like that trade. makes no sense for Montreal to give up their biggest centre who keeps getting better every year and who is just 24 for a guy like Williams who is coming to the end of his prime, not to mention a prospect drafted in the second round in 2012. that guy criticizes Eller for having a career high of 30 points but fails to mention that he did it this past year in 46 games, while praising Williams' offensive output even though he had only 3 more points than Eller while playing 48 games. Eller is significantly bigger and plays centre. not to mention that Justin Williams is a pariah in Montreal. awful trade for the Habs.

They didn't win solely because of Toews. They have the best team in the NHL. Replace Toews with OV and Chicago still wins. Yes, Toews is great, deserves credit as a Cup-winning captain, but come on here. This kind of narrative ignores other contributions, and is simply an easy way for someone to draw a conclusion without doing actual, objective research. "Toews wins cups" doesn't make Toews any better or more valuable of a player. He's great based on his stats, his objectively great two-way play, not because he wins cups. He wins cups because his TEAM is the best one.

Absolutely correct, best team Top to Bottom. To win Cups you need to have a few stars or so called superstars, but just as importantly , you need great role players.

and even all that said, it's not the greatest move for the Kings. they're loaded at centre and have all the size they need up front. best part of the deal for them would be adding a solid D prospect.
