so because he's on a better team he's a better player? alright
Matt Moulson and Matt Duchene's production was the same. Moulson played 6 playoff games. Moulson>Duchene - TheNugeIsHuge
.... it hasn;t just been on year. |
|
|
|
same can be said about crosby. still the best player in the world - TheNugeIsHuge
umm that fact that year was the only year in 7 that he was not the a ppg?? |

cmon man crosby has dominated for years hall had one good year and ovi still has 7 years that are better and one that is roughly the same - 6Karlsson5
I don't give a sh*t how well ovechkin did in 2006!!
I am speaking of the present. Producing at near the same clip. Not a huge difference |

no. building a team around him. Having John Carlson, karl alzner, mike green on D, Holtby n Neuvirth in net, Backstrom Ribeiro etc. on the team is what got WSH in to the playoffs.
having smid-petry as a top pairing. having eager, belanger, petrell in the bottom 6. having a top 6 with an average age of 20.5. hall can't carry that. no one can - TheNugeIsHuge
They were bad when Ovi was bad. They were a playoff team when Ovi stepped it up. |

in the past 2 years he's had 121P in 126GP. What's to say he's ever gonna have another 80+P season? I'm speaking as of now people. |

obviously exaggerating to again try to prove to you that a value in a player doesn't lie in what he did 5 years ago. that's stupid and you should know it - TheNugeIsHuge
and how do u value a player on what they may or may not do... i would be sooner to value a player on what he has done.. over valuing a player on what they may do in years to come. |

As of now one is 21 and looks like a stud, the other is 27, a future hall of famer and a current MVP winner. AS of now Ovi is still much better |

so when he had 106P in 2005-2006, the team was bad(4th last in the league). But when he had 112P in 2007-2008, he alone stepped it up big time and they were playoff calibre.
the fact that you think one player, by himself, can carry a team on his shoulders to the playoffs makes me question why I'm even talking to you. This is BUF thread bad.
I'm feeling my IQ level lower by the minute so I'm gonna go. I'll leave it at this.
Ovi>Hall. But not by a lot. |

I'd like Cleary. Yost says Morrow was a 44% possession player this year. Murray can't skate. Hainsey isn't a fit with 6 LHD already. bryz sucks. gagne sucks. wellwood is too small, edm has enough 5'10 guys. grabo'd be good. - TheNugeIsHuge
Clearly still has a lil bit left in the tank for a third line role. |

And by me talking to an Oiler fan I wouldnt expect you to understand players stepping it up for a playoff run. Way to go out on a wrong note |

Why does nobody mention Ovechkin is one of the best power forwards in the game to go along with all that "skill?" |
|
|

Id argue the top 5 players are
Malkin
Crosby
Stamkos
Ovi
Tavares - sbroads24
I've seen polls voted on by the players that say Datsyuk is the best player in the league. |

I have seen them too. I don't know. He's definitely top 10. He is by far the best 2 way center in the game |

The Bolts would never, ever in a million years trade Sustr for Cammalerri. We have too many forwards alreadt that are better than Cami that we are looking to unload for help on defense. I'd suggest you two bozos look at our development chart before you consumate a terrible trade. |

it's great that Ovi had a lot of points from 2005-2011. I'm saying if I want a player, it's so they can help me now and in the future. Not 5 years ago.
Hall and Ovi have produced at around the same clip the last 2 years. Hall's 6 years younger and signed to a much friendlier cap hit. So, no, Ovi's value cannot be "ways" ahead of hall's unless your head was surgically placed in your ass - TheNugeIsHuge
Plus Hall isn't a threat to go to the KHL. |
